Q: Some gold commentators are salivating over the evolving profitability of the mining companies, and imagining their free cash flows on the verge of going parabolic. I'm thinking that governments at multiple levels are well aware of the situation, and are likely preparing salvos of new taxes, surtaxes, royalties and the like to claim their "fair share" of the wealth.
Could you please offer your assessment? Thank you.

Q: I currently have a significant position in Yamana and with the recent rise in share price, I have been thinking of selling a portion of my position and buy another mid-cap gold miner. I am likely going to sell my gold positions in 2-3 years time and would like a mid cap company with higher share price growth potential.

I am debating between BTO, AGI and K.

BTO has had some momentum of late but with geo-political risk. AGI has minimal debt but generally produces less gold. Kinross is a larger producer but it may have some leverage to run up significantly with a higher gold price.

Any thoughts on these three stocks and which do you prefer of the three?

Thanks in advance.

Q: Hi 5i,

Thank you for the great work. Gold seems to be emerging as a key theme right now. Currently I have a full position in Franco-Nevada. Looking to add further exposure and wondering if you would:

1. Add to FNV
2. Add position in any miners you recommend
3. Add XGD

Thank you in advance!

Q: I take note that in the reply to Maureen’s query on gold companies that MMX was omitted. Is there any reason for that other than size and risk. What is your view on MMX potential if gold rises during the massive QE effort going on. Do royalty companies have any extra leverage to the price of gold when it rises
Thank You

Q: I have 5% in KL. Less than 1% in phys.
I think owning a total of 10% in my portfolio could be appropriate sooner than later,
I would like your opinion of the top five small gold and five silver cos. As well 5 of the top larger larger gold and silver companies.

If bto is not in your list please advise your reasoning. Thank you very much.

Q: A lot of the precious metal stocks have been on the rise in the past few weeks and yet First Majestic Silver seems to be on a steady decline. Any thoughts on the reason it is declining? I am wondering if I should cut my losses on this stock, sell it and replace it with PAAS. Your thoughts on this move would be appreciated.

Thanks as always

Q: Hi 5i,

Thanks for the great work. I’m seeing a number of questions on inflation, and gold and silver exposure. In today’s economic environment where resource needs are very low, do you see opportunity to start adding positions in Teck or XME to position for the economy to come back online, and build in an inflation hedge?

Thanks in advance. Timing is such a challenge right now where being too early, is the same as being wrong.

Q: Hi 5iTeam -I am interested in buying shares related to copper exploration and/or production and in particular Trilogy Metals. For some reason I am not able to buy these shares online in my TD Waterhouse accounts and need to go through a representative. Of course there are long wait times due to the environment we live in now so I am wondering if there are any other companies in the copper field that might have reasonable potential for success. Anything in the junior exploration stage is fine as well as an actual producer. Two important components are a balance sheet that would get the company through the next couple of years as well as decent management. Any exchange in Canada and the U.S. is fine.

Thanks.

P.S. If you think Trilogy is worth the wait time to buy (up to two hours), please let me know.

Q: I have CGL.C in my non rrsp account and do have a capital gain so I am thinking of selling this as I do have some capital loss that I can use it to offset the gain. I know you also mentioned that PHYS also has lower fees than CGL.C so would this be a good switch?
Thanks
