Q: "Fiera Capital Corporation, manager of The Fiera Capital QSSP II Investment Fund Inc. (the ''Fund''), announces its first offering of Class A shares, Series 2013 of the Fund.
The first offering will begin on Tuesday March 26, 2013 and is expected to end on April 2nd, 2013." Is this positive for FSZ? It looks like it will open today down ~4%.

Q: Thanks for posting ur Model Portfolio. To round out the portfolio with US, International, Emerging Markets and a bond component would you just use an ETF for each - and if so what ones do you like.
What % of cash do u recommend to hold for a retired person.

Q: Hi Peter.
When do u purchase gold stocks once they have corrected so much? Do u try to time the bottom (falling knife) or wait for confirmed up trends to establish - like technicals? or fundamentals? US dollar weakness, market conditions? or what?
Once u decide, do u look for Large, Mid or Small cap?

Q: Your recommendation of MacDonald Dettwiler reminds me of my investment of Comdev (symbol CDV). My understanding of Comdev from the past was that they designed... Satellites for different gov't or non gov't entities. Comdev appears to have struggled throughout the years. Would you know the difference between these companies and why you think Macdonald Dettwiler stands out? Thanks.

As they have updated their resource data and announced new drilling results, could you please update your thoughts on AXR. Would this be one of your preferred picks in the sector and if so, what would you recommend re buying - purchase now or wait until late summer to catch what is sometimes a good seasonal time.

Q: Hi Peter & 5i: I made a spec purchase of Kelt Exploration (KEL) very recently, on its first day of public trading. My thinking was just that the successful management team from CLT would probably have spun themselves out a pretty attractive asset base to provide the E&D opportunity for their next project, Kelt that is. The announcement of their bought deal equity financing at $5.55 immediately pushed the stock up over $6 - kind of a rare sequence in the resource area recently. Obviously there is no company history here but can you offer any comments to help fill out my picture a bit? Are there any "typical" patterns in stock movements or other signals to look for with this kind of spun out asset company? Thanks!

Q: I have a strategy question about the merits in investing in life insurance companies. I simplistically see this business as two businesses - life insurance and investment. If the results from each sector were available, I would ask whether the return from the life insurance business is good. My next question would be whether I could do as well with investments. I wonder whether an insurance company devotes the same level of investment expertise as would a business devoted to managing a comparable portfolio or relies more on third party analysis eg rating agencies.

Q: Your update on Equity Financial EQI raises in my mind a strategy question about investing in mortgage finance companies. I figure that these portfolios consist of 2nds with high loan to value. Why invest in these (having no upside) instead of a high quality REIT. While the sector is different, I see it as fundamentally investing in the same asset - real estate. Chances are that, with 2nds, the collateral and covenant value would be second rate. Moreover, their supply depends on brokers whose business is based on volume, not quality.
