Q: Good day,
Perhaps I need to be clearer in what I'm asking with regard to the secondary offering announced by A&W. From your earlier answers this is a non-news story that has zero affect on the company and its stock value and does not even really involve the company so much as certain shareholders selling their stock to someone else. So why did A&W announce it? The market seems to think this was a significant event, as the stock has fallen precipitously since the announcement.

Q: I have owned WEF since late 2014 and am, effective today, back to even par (if you include dividends). Their recent report showed good metrics, but I am wondering about the impact of the SLA negotiations vs the soon-to-be-imposed CVD and AD duties. Some would say we might be better off just paying the duties. At least that gives us some certainty. WEF is in a bit of a different boat than its peer group, since only a very small portion of their exports are SPF softwood-related. I believe < 15% of their exports are duty-related, due to either their species (eg: cedar) or higher value products.

What are your thoughts - keep or move on? Is this likely to be dead money until the SLA is resolved or is the CVD-AD duties going to provide some short term certainty? I am paid to wait via the nice dividend.

- is their a chance this company could become a portfolio changer, I mean should I average up and take this to a 3% position from 1.5%

Q: What are your thoughts on todays announced sale and prospects going forward. I suspect they must have something else fairly major lined up to buy. Todays sale was actually worth more than the market cap (at least what shows on the tsx site, without options etc).

Q: I always have a couple of speculative stocks in my portfolio.(you know the fun ones that you usually loose you shirt on!) I don't usually deal with penny stocks, but this one seemed to be interesting. I purchased this stock at 0.20. Of course lots of rumours going around about this company, but not worth mentioning as they are not confirmed. The only thing I could see is they hired a new President and communications firm.

We were surprised to learn that TIO networks is being bought by pay pal. At an 86% gain we are very happy. Thank you for the recommendation. At the end of the month we will sell our holdings. It is in my wife's TFSA. Her current holdings are ET, KXS,GUD,LNR,SJ, and SYZ. This is our growth account as we have appropriate holdings of large caps and fixed income in our other accounts. In your opinion what would be a good addition to our current holdings or would you recommend adding to any of our current holdings?

Q: The market does not seem to like the prospect of MDA acquiring DigitalGlobe with the stock down close to 4% since news of the possible deal was released on Friday. This would be a huge acquisition for MDA. What is 5i’s opinion of the deal and the reaction of MDA shareholders?

Q: With regards to reports of a large acquisition possible for MDA; my question is, would a deal of this possible size require a very large amount of dilution? I don't believe MDA could fund strictly through debt?
Any thoughts on the target beyond how they could structure the deal? Seems like a logical space to go after?

Q: i currently only hold bns for financials. It has been very good over the last year. I'm thinking about adding slf (to hedge against potential interest rate hikes) and fsz for some extra upswing potential to balance against the security of bns. I'm 31 years old, they're all held in my tfsa, I'm thinking long term and am ok with risk. Do you have issues with either of these two? Is there others you'd prefer to accomplish what I'm looking for? Do you think rate increases will push bns down enough to make it cheaper to add to or is trying to get the timing right with that not worth waiting for?
