Q: In Sept. last year you answered a question regarding this company INN.UN and indicated that it was O.K. for income with no negative indicators. Orange Capital is now involved and they disagree with your point of view but have taken a 10% position with a view of bringing about changes to this poorly run company. From your experience is a position of this size a big enough club to sway managements train of thought. Orange maintains that with change the units should be worth 50% more.
Q: Hi:
I am looking to add some quality stocks of medium volatility to my TFSA
Are STN (has gone down recently) and DH good choices ?
I have WTE (West shore terminal) in an investment account,
is it fully valued or could I add some to my TFSA ?
Thanks!
Q: Hi Peter
I have a gain on NE. Is it worth keeping for recovery in offshore drilling or should I switch to GILD as I am underweight pharma/biotech. Thanks Hamish
Q: My portfolio is light on technology stocks (5%). I own SYZ. Are there other options in the sector with a 3-5% dividend, which you could recommend? Being retired, I'm seeking income and some decent growth.
Thanks for the great service.
Kyle
Q: I would like to diversify into the US pharmaceuticals. Which would be reasonably good value for a 5% position in my portfolio and reasonably safe as in low volatility: VRX, GILD, ACT or IBB or would you suggest something else? Thankyou.
Q: Hi Peter and team,
For a 4% position in a diversified portfolio, do you prefer Surge SGY or Whitecap WCP for a 3-5 year hold? I am looking for growth and some dividends.
Thx,
Mike
Q: Any ideas where the bleeding on CUS (Canexus) might cease? Book value? I am not averaging down yet, and prefer not to, but it is often the only way to dig oneself out of a deep hole on worthy cmpanies.
What are the risks this could get very much worse and averaging down would prove perilous? I suspect a divvy cut may be priced in here. Your thoughts are appreciated.
Q: Good day. Have your views changed on Morneau Shepell (MSI) since they reported earlier this month. I am considering them for an income producing portfolio.
Q: Don't understand Nuttals reasoning-seems like Surge made a good investment at 4.45$ a share with dividends of 4.5 million a year and can sell the shares if they desire.Seems like it doesn't weaken the assests and the downturn as results of Eric's comments enabled me to add to my position at 5.70 $ a share today
Q: Hello 5i,
I’m looking to buy two good dividend paying stock, on my list is A&W Royalties Income Fund, AG Growth International, Gamehost Inc, HealthLease Properties REIT, Trimac Transportation, Prism Medical Ltd. and Student Transportation Inc (STB). With stability and long term hold in mind, what would be your order in purchasing these stocks?
Thanks
Can you please provide your thoughts on Arsenal Energy's (AEI) results? They look "ok" to me but I am having trouble deciding if its any better than that.
Q: Good morning. I would appreciate your comments on CPG Crescent Point which released Q4 results today. They do continue to grow production and reserves but also net debt was up 18%. They use the metric net debt to funds flow which is down 9% reflecting production and revenue growth. Does this make you feel any better about the company's balance sheet?
Q: For a young new investor just starting a RRSP, in which product would you accumulate initial savings? Would something like XWD be an appropriate starting point, and how much would you accumulate before diversifying to a typical portfolio approach.
