Q: As a neophyte investor, I have some (basic) questions that I hope you can answer for me:
1. When a company consistently (over several quarters) shows red in the Retained Earnings column, what is really going on here? How do I use that information in conjunction with the rest of the information; i.e. what "line/s" should be most carefully considered?
2. When a company has a very large amount in the "Intangible Assets" line which accounts for most of their total assets, how do we interpret that in relation to their total liabilities? Do we totally discount this line?
Thanks!
Mike
