Q: Hi folks, Raymond James thinks Cannabis sector will bottom in Q1/20 (now), stabalize in Q2 & Q3 (with bankruptcies/mergers/buyouts etc) and the winners after the carnage/dust settles...should prosper going forward. Do you agree with their thesis (I do), and trying to position myself in a few companies that have cash/good operations/chance of profits etc...and 2 I picked were Village Farms & Aphria. Can I please get your throughts on Pot sector and these two companies. Many thanks, jb

Q: I am a somewhat conservative investor. I've avoided the pot stocks until now. But a couple of weeks ago I finally decided to dip a toe into things and buy VFF. My theory being that even if the pot growers are jostling for position, and even if many won't survive, the people who rent them greenhouses will do well.

I'm taken aback by this thing. I bought it (0.5% of my portfolio) on Feb 1 and it's up 71%, which to me seems insane. Yet when I check it on Stockcalc it still shows it undervalued by over 55%.

I guess my question is - do I dare add to my position, now approaching 1%? What kind of risk evaluation would you make on VFF as opposed to 'normal' stocks?

Q: Hello team,

I read somewhere that in the gold rush, those who sold shovels, pickaxes, rented mules, etc. made the most money.

Could you please suggest a couple of US or Canadian companies which are doing the same for marijuana growers?

I appreciate it if you can comment on their debt level and management and whether or not you recommend any for purchase at this time.

Thanks a lot, as always!

Q: Greetings 5i,

VFF is a stock you considered a spec buy earlier this year. It has since came down to $5.00 however is still way up from its 52 week lows. What are your thoughts on this company, is it still a spec buy in your opinion, and at what weighting in a portfolio would you be most comfortable.

Lastly can you suggest a few names, Canadian or otherwise, that have become interesting to you as "pick and shovel" suppliers for the MJ industry.

Cheers!

Q: Sitting out the weed stock ride is getting expensive and I am looking for a way to get involved with something that has some tangible reason to believe. Some stocks just seem to bounce up and down based on different sides speculating on the same news story. Are there three stocks you could recommend that are not a complete turkey shoot? What do you like about them?

Q: Good evening,
I have managed to escape ggi.v before the carnage began. I have a hefty gain in my tax free account and I'm looking for 4 or 5 somewhat risky picks that could provide some real torque. Fitting this profile would you be able to provide any suggestions for me? I currently own gud and pho in my tea.
Cheers

Q: I sold yesterday half our position which was in a rsp, now we have an amount equal in a cash account representing 1.5 % of our portfolio. I see the stock is up today another 3% on low volume, no news except this marijuana growing joint venture a couple month ago. Do you know if there is insider buying?
I am tempted to cash out. your advice is always precious.
Thank you.

Q: I am interested in Village Farms to diversify my holdings in the marijuana sector and it seems like a safer play, currently I just hold ICC for a speculative play on South America.
What are the key metrics on VFF, earnings, book value, P/E etc… and would you consider this a good entry point now that it has come off its recent high after the Emerald Health joint venture announcement?
