Q: Hi Peter, I am a 50 year old, long term, buy and hold conservative investor and have about 35% of my portfolio in various pipeline and mid stream stocks including ENB, ALA, PPL, KEY and IPL.UN. I am building my portfolio to provide me with retirement income from dividends that will continue for many years to come. I have been concerned with the latest research coming from various sources regarding the potential for the U.S. to be energy self sufficient in future years and wonder what the effect might be on my portfolio positions. I try to minimize my risk and hope that this potential development will not have a negative impact on these stocks. I know that the future is very difficult to predict but would appreciate your insight on this topic. Many thanks.

Q: I am not sure if you got this question and maybe I am posting again but I want to know your opinion on CGI Groups after the recent contract win. Thanks
Q: I sell a stock when my loss is 8%. But I've never really known when to accept the 8% loss and sell. Do I sell the moment the 8% loss occurs by using a stop loss order? Or at the end of the day the 8% loss is realized? At the end of the week? At the end of the month or quarter? There's always a part of me saying, "I'll give it another day, another week." Can you help me tighten up my sell strategy? Thank you. And I realize 8% is somewhat arbitrary. Some people will let a stock drop 20%.
Q: I would like your opinion regarding SGY. It seems cheap but is really selling off lately. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated Thanks Again.
Q: Is Longview (LNV) finally in a capitulation slide? With WTI hanging in above $90 and LNV being predominantly a light oil producer, I would have thought the company might be doing okay. But the stock just keeps falling and falling. Any thoughts? What would you do with it at this point?
Q: Hi Guys, what is opinion regarding CP-T. It seems so over valued when compared to other rails. Am i missing something here or is this been pushed up by momentum? Thanks again for the awesome service.

Q: In reference to a moneysaver article, Buffett Value Stocks p.37 of the Jan-13 edition, can you please briefly comment on the return on retained earnings metric presented? I have been trying to rationalize it but I don't really see the direct relationship between earning growth vs retained earnings as growth can also be finance by debt if capital is needed. Thank you for your help!

Any thoughs on the mrg.un deal this afternoon? Looks like the amount paid for the new assets are more than twice the market cap of mrg.un! Is an equity offering almost a sure thing here. Thanks for your thoughts.

Q: Based on your previous comments, I believe you like National Bank and TD but what are your thoughts on Laurentian Bank (LB)? I have been considering taking a position for some time. It seems to be a conservative bank with steady growth, a good and improving brand (in Quebec at least), good dividend and low payout. Also, its small size and domestic operations seem positive to me. Thank you!

Q: NTB and APO This question was triggered by the NTB question earlier. Would APO be a better investment, since they are corporate relatives and APO seems to have generated a lot of interest in the last year?
Or are they both suspect at least for now?
Thank you.

Q: Hi Peter are you familiar with Valeura Energy (vle)? It's a Canadian oil and gas management team currently operating in Turkey with a focus on nat gas. The mgmt team has had good historical track records with previous companies but so far this has been a huge dissapointment over the last 2.5 years or so. I see Scott Lamacraft ( CEO of Cormark Securities former Sprott Securities)has recently acquired a large position and is now the largest shareholder. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
