Q: Since your last report on WJX on May 30th, I have noticed that two directors have purchased a total of 20,000 shares and there has been no selling and technically it appears WJX has turned upwards. Would this information alter your May 30th comments. The stock has a compelling dividend. Thanks, Bill
Q: Hi Peter and team, any update to your previous comments from April on KPT (KP Tissue Inc.)? The dividend looks fairly attractive, and the share price is down from the IPO (unsurprisingly). I'm not in love with the fact that the company owns a minority interest in an LP, and was wondering if you had anything to add about the company. Thanks.
Q: I see the last (and only?) time you were asked to comment on KPT was 3 months ago. Since then the stock has dropped around $2 (more than 10%). I'd appreciate your comment on the stock at these levels. Is the drop warranted?
Q: Hi Peter
what's your take on FTE now ORAN for some international exposure - is the dividend safe for now - I believe the dividend is at 11% - would you recommend for a long term hold -- could be a turnaround story
Q: Hi Team, I did a bit of research as to why NBD & ANS prices are going down, if you are not aware of this here is a government link that talks about soft lumber prices dropping since the peak in April (http://cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/selective-cuttings/43).
Hope this clears up a bit why stocks are down...
Continue your great work.
Alain (post it if you wish)
Q: CAR.UN Would appreciate your views on Canadian Apt. Have held for two years, would like to add to when it rights itself.
New to site, enjoying question section very much.
Q: Hi Peter and team,
One of the first companies I ever bought when I started investing 7 years ago was Canadian Oil Sands - now with oil hitting $100 I'm thinking about selling it for something with more growth. I want something that pays a decent, rising dividend. I'm leaning towards adding to my ESL, HCG or starting a position in CGX.
I currently own AD, AP.UN, AX.UN, BNP, BNS, BEP.UN, BIP.UN, CNR, COS, CSU, CFN, EIF, ESL, HCG, IPL.UN, KMP, PEY, RY, TD, THI, TOT and Telus all about equal weight. My 2 dogs are Penn West and Longview that I hope to clean up over the year.
Q: I own shares in Galvanic Applied Sciences (TSXV:GAV). Last Friday the Company got a takeover offer for $1.70 per share. Apparently the buyer(s)have locked up over 67% of GAV shares. For the last two years, GAV is on $17M revenue run earning 0.22-0.23 in earnings. GAV has over $10.5M in cash/near cash and no debt. The Company has only 15.7M shares out. This offer appears to me like joke, a bad joke. Do you agree?
Q: My husband has ask me to look into LW. It has a good dividend and is mid stream betweed it's high and low.I want to put it in my RIFF. Any thoughts?
Q: Notwithstanding the stellar performance of ANS in it's first quarter this year as well as the upbeat reports on the US housing picture: this stock continues to go south. Quid ES?
As well RBC rates it OUTPERFORM with a $5.00 value this year.
As always - thank you.
With the Renewable Energy Developers, RDZ, being acquired by Capstone Infrastructure Corporation. Would now be a good time to buy RDZ at current prices to capture the dividend increase that comes with it? or should one just buy Capstone?
Q: Good afternoon,
I really appreciate your question and answer service. However a few people (hello Edward!) seem to expect you to be their personal portfolio manager. Not only does this put you in a difficult position, but it renders their questions rather pointless for the rest of your readers. Have you considered discouraging this type of query?
Q: Hello 5i,
Could you give a little update with regards to SVC. I have owned this one a few times in the past and am considering it again but cautious about its growth.
Thanks,PW
