Q: While *VERY* happy with the performance of my Sylogist (v.syz) holdings, I must say that judging by its web site, it is one of the most non-promotional companies in which I have invested. Not that I am keen on unwarranted hype but sending investors to SEDAR for everything of consequence for instance indicates little desire to attract the attention of investors (but yes it does save on expenses). Perhaps they are saving themselves for the day that they intend to apply for a listing on the TSX. Question: Roughly when do you foresee Sylogist applying to move up to the TSX?
TIA.

Q: Hello Peter and Team,

Quick thoughts on Faro Technologies, FARO, and how they are positioned to take advantage of the supposedly rapid expanding 3D printing world. Also, a quick comment on their financials and value would also be appreciated. And if you are familiar with the 3D printing world, what company would be your best bet in this growing field.

Q: Hi Peter:
Last week when you appeared on BNN one comment was "no more than 20% of a portfolio in income stocks" What is your definition of an income stock? Would this definition include REITS, prefs or any stock that pays a divy?
Thanks
Ron

Q: Good Day. On July 29th, Haliburton (HAL) announced a 'modified dutch auction' in order to re-purchase shares. Are there specific advantages in this process as opposed to a regular re-purchase of stock?
Can I have your outlook on HAL for the next 2 to 5 years.
Finally, any plans for a US Model Portfolio that I see is in place for Canadian securities.

thanks,

Q: What do you think of pure multifamily reit which invests in US houses? Pays over 8% but it has been sagging all year. Is it a good way to play the US housing rebound? Thanks.

Q: Several of my financial preferred shares have laid an egg over the past 3 months(SLF.PR.A)FFH.PR.G). I bought these for income and in looking at the charts, they have almost fallen off a cliff since June.
What do you think the catalyst has been for such a sudden drop in value? Up until June their marker values were quite constant at around original issue price.

Q: What is your impression on Ishares international dividend fund IDV at the present time? would it be better held in an RRSP, TFSA or trading account?
As an alternative am also looking at Ishares global gold index. It is near its 52 week low. I assume that one would be best in a TFSA
Thanks
