Q: Hi 5i team, The recent run-up in the shares of WIN. Is it a result of: (1) a change in the market's sentiment toward the company and is therefore broadly based or (2) a few big investors including maybe hedge-funds buying for a fast flip or (3) someone buying a stake for a bid or for activist influence? Afterall, the stock was at $8 plus when the company's situation was't that different from now. Thanks as always. Henry

Q: Espial group (ESP) Any reason for the big drop in ESP today? Would it have anything to do with the Rogers and Shaw deal? Thanks

Q: Peter and Team. Love this service and recommend it as often as I can.

Do you have a preference re IGV.US verses XLK.US ? I am a well diversified investor with the exception of tech and don't want to be a stock picker in this segment. An ETF seems the best way to play tech for me.

Many thanks, Nancy

Q: Hi Peter, WIN Wi-LAN has moved steadily up over the last month since it's low. Given the non sale of the company and some changes to the business model do you see stability or further volatility?
Thank you.

Q: The article from Bloomberg reflects my sentiments quite succinctly. I had bought AVO at $30 and is currently 3% of my portfolio. I am torn between diametrically opposite courses of action.
- The stock has tremendous potential but very risky. If I double my position, the cost base comes down and the percentage risk diminishes but the risked amount increases.
- I could hold on to my current position and I think the downside risk is a lot lower from this point on.
- Or I could take my losses and justify that not doing so would be an opportunity cost of investing elsewhere with lower risk; in case the gain in stock price is not substantial.
I ask your advice as a voice of reason. I have itchy fingers and very often gamble and very often the end result proves the old adage that I was lucky in love.

Q: What do you think of the ETF XIT? I dislike how it has a small market cap, holds pretty much only 4 companies, and has a high MER (0.6%) but I really like buying the tech sector on dips caused by broad-market scares. It is free to buy (and sell) in an iTrade account. Holdings: 23% CGI, 23% OpenText, 16% Constellation, 8% DH. And unfortunaly, 16% BlackBerry. Any thoughts about this ETF?
