Q: cos- I have held this stock for several years and paid approx. 24.00 so down a bit. A fellow called Jeremy Siegel had written a book about stocks to hold for a long haul- would cos- sort of fit into that category? it pays a good dividend and as long as I continue to reinvest that dividend- I should eventually come out fairly well?? What is your opinion on this?? I hold the stock in my RRSP and in my Cash account.

Q: SCS (Second Wave Petroleum):

Further to the Brookfield going private offer.
When OSB market was in distress a few years back Brookfield took control of NorBord and Answorth. NBD and ANS continued as public companies and all shareholders eventually benefitted. The SCS going private transaction (requiring a majority of the disinterested shareholders) appears to be nasty situation for the minority shareholders. What are your views on this aspect?

Q: SCS (Second Wave Petroleum):

What is your opinion on the going private offer at .30/share from Brookfield today, and what are the chances for a higher offer from Brookfield or other parties?

Q: Energy is 18% of our portfolio (600G), with full shares in HSE,BTE and CPG for the dividend, and 1/2 shares in CVE and KEY for growth. We do depend on dividends for half of our income. Do you think this is a reasonable apportionment?

Q: Hi Peter and Team

I am still holding Zargon (ZAR)with a pretty big loss. But every time I go over their material on their web site, it looks so attractive. I am usually pretty disciplined selling losers in December in order to lower my capital gains taxes but I may not do that this year. This is the big year for capex on their ASP flood technology but if that works it looks like gravy from 2014 on. I guess that is the big risk. It looks like a good risk to me. I am also considering buying some more. I have lots of capital gains to more than balance off my loss position so I am not hurting from a portfolio point of view. So what do you think of it at its current price and my thinking. Thanks

Ross

Q: Hi team: I bot some of your model portfolio stocks on Apr. 11, and the some on Apr. 18. I think
your model portfolio is REALLY GREAT!. Thank you. In April of 2012 Deborah mentioned that
there was an upcoming seminar. I would very much like to go to any seminars you might have.
Will there be any in the future? Do you like Palliser at .52? Since it does not pay a dividend, I guess it is just a hold until the sector recovers. Is this a buy if holding is not a problem? Jean

Q: In a recent reply, you mentioned that our Oil & Gas holdings, were too high, at 16% of our total investments. One of these is Baytex, which I bought in both my TFSA and our Joint account for its dividend and growth. It has been a great disappointment with an 11.5% loss to date. Is the dividend safe? Should I hold it for eventual recovery? Or should I sell? We also have CPG which is similarly down, plus HSE, CVE and KEY. Thoughts?

Q: Hi guys,

Your service is unbeatable! I appreciate your insight and perspective on investing. I was a Peak Oil / resource guy when I first started investing 7 years ago and never thought my portfolio would be taking turns it has in the last 2 years. I have 500 PEY shares between my RRSP and TSFA and it's had a good run and I'm thinking about selling it. I like PEY, but think value it's a tad high. What do you think about flipping PEY 2 other companies, 1 in my TSFA and 1 in my RRSP?

In my RRSP I'm thinking about starting a position in HCG or SAP or...? In myTSFA I'm thinking about starting starting a position in Telus or...?

I currently own RY, TD, BNS, CN, IPL.UN, AD, AP.UN, COS, AX.UN, BNP, BEP, BIP, PEY, CSU, EIF, THI, KMP and CFN all about equal weight and a few others smaller ones that I hope to clean up over the year.

Thank you!

Brent

Q: Your views on the newly formed Spyglass Resources Corp (SGL) would be much appreciated. I'm well under water on this one through previous holding in Avenex. Is the hefty dividend sustainable? Is it likely to recover along with CDN energy sector? Your view of management?

This is a great service you're providing the retail investor. Thank you!

Q: Peter,

I would like to diversify from all my Canadian oil because of the discount to WTI. I have very small positions in CNE & PMG now, both of which have corrected quite severely. Your thoughts on adding to them please?
