Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Hate to sound like a nervous nelly, but why is DH being sold down so aggressively of late - such as today? As well of late the volumes are large and the drops are big.

I know you assure me earlier there is nothing of note from its operations. I know earnings release is tomorrow, is someone trying to create a panic before then?

I bought more today anyway, just to go against the grain (or take a deeper plunge and catch the falling knife - whatever).

What's your take?

Q: I want to raise some cash from my unregistered account. I have narrowed it down to one or the other or some combination of both of VNR and GH. I w3ould appreciate your opinions.
Thanks

Q: Hello team,

Is there a specific reason behind the 12.45% increase in stock price on Friday?

Seem to me it is a move ahead of release for quarterly results. As usual, some people seem to know more than everybody else. What do you think?

I know you favor this company but do you think for a long-term investor (5-10Year) a 5% weight is too much for this company?

My other financial exposure is via EFN (together they make up 3%). Thanks for your insight.

Q: I bought Cineplex for growth and have made a very nice gain on it. I wonder with it at over $50.00 if there is much more growth left in the short term and it might be time to sell for a better growth stock.
Thank you.

Q: Would there not be an opportunity cost by buying Knight now instead of a couple of years from now, since you keep saying that it is a five year investment, thanks?

Q: GUD is apparently well positioned. They have money and they have the skill set. Waiting for it to move is seemingly like waiting for Godot. When do you think they might pull the trigger with the money they have and make and investment? See you at the show.

Q: I am thinking of selling BIN (down 20% in RRSP account) and buying GUD. Industrials make up 14% of my portfolio with health at 1%. Would this be a reasonable trade at this time.

Q: Any idea what is going on with CXI? Is this just volatility or something more than that?

Thank you for your expert opinion.

Q: What's your latest view on WPK? Something you still like on a go forward basis that you'd add to one's position?

Q: I would like to add to my positions in these companies.
Can you please tell me if it's a good time for these 5 or would you wait on any of these?

I just renewed for two more years. Thanks for the good service.

Q: The share price of DH has been sold down steady of late. Is it just the trader playing their usual game, or something happened to its operations that we should be aware of. Thanks.

Q: Your report on GUD indicated a very favourable view of the company. I would appreciate your thoughts on the possibility/likelihood of the very smart and very patient Mr. Goodman taking advantage of the recent slaughter among many of the small cap specialty pharma companies. Is this when that large cash balance starts to be deployed?
Thanks.

Q: Hi guys,

Would it be possible to get some help regarding how many shares, of the 4 million, Glenn Chamandy has sold already in his share disposition plan?

CIBC's Investor's Edge has consensus 2016 estimates at $1.91US which translates to $2.51 Canadian. The shares, here, look pretty attractive to me, trading at just over 15x 2016 estimated earnings. However, I'm not sure I want to add to my position if Mr. Chamandy still has several more weeks of selling ahead of him.

Thanks for your help.

John
