Q: Hello Peter,
So glad we joined 5i, great information.
Could you comment on Life & Banc Split Corp (LBS).
The 12% yield is it a too good to be true story?
Thanks,
Ted

Q: Hi Reter and team: Within the last week two analysts on BNN gave dramatically different assessments of Fortis. One figured it was a buy at current prices and that being a regulated utility its revenue would be allowed to rise with interest rates. The other thought it would never grow again and deserved to be shorted (shorting it was his third "pick"). Can you shed some light on this disagreement?

Q: Carfinco seems to be down again on news of EPS restatement. How do you assess the EPS restatement? Forgivable error or a sign of sloppy accounting (can't count number of shares ...)?

Does this present a buying opportunity (I have a small/partial position); or should I look for selling opportunities?

Q: MNW/AAH
Are you recommending buying AAH vs MNW (Nov 17) because you have done the research on it and not on MNW? If you have other reasons could you please elaborate? I interpret the acquisition as accretive to MNW. Thank you, Gayle

Q: I assume there was nothing in google search data before the last crash that could be used to predict the next one? Perhaps something less obvious than increasing paranoia or volatility?

Q: What is your opinion on the offer from JLL/Delta Patheon Holdings on taking Patheon private? Thank you.
Read Answer Asked by Karen on November 19, 2013
Q: Hi Peter, thank you for your comments on Patheon in our discussions, it helped me in my decision making. Since 66% of those present at the special meeting to be called must vote in favour of the buyout...Since some big funds like CI and others own big positions is it a possibility that JLL will not get the 66% required and be forced to pay more then $9.32 US?
Secondly should I sell some today or wait a few days to see how the buyout is received by the large shareholders?...Thanks, George

Q: Intertape Polymer,ITP, has fallen 13% in the past week. The. Quarterly results came out last week and they were OK. I could not find anything to account for this decline in the price. Is this merely profit taking in a stock which has gone up over 100%over the past year or is there some thing else going. Would you just sit tight and if so how long until the stock starts to turn up. Your help is much appreciated. Ian.

Q: Hi Peter and Team:

A friend's advisor recently recommended and bought some Canso Credit Income Fund (PBY.UN) for his investment account. What do you think about this stock?

I was enjoying last Saturday's Money Saver webinar, but had to leave early. When will a YouTube or other version be available?

Thanks in advance.

Q: I have a reasonably well balanced stock portfolio, consisting mainly of large TSX dividend paying stocks. As the DOW continues to reach new highs, I am growing increasingly concerned about the propects of another bubble, and want to have a strategy ready to protect the gains in my portfolio if necessary. Other than cashing out, would your view be to invoke stop losses on my more interest sensitive stocks? If so, what level of stop loss would be appropriate (ie. is there a typical percentage or dollar level that is used, or would it vary by the type of stock?
Thanks for your input 5i.

Brian

Q: Any initial thoughts on GXE? It definately has good management behind it and seems to have good operating metrics. At $3, the valuation doesn't seem bad either, at least to me.

Q: Hello Team,
Do you have an opinion on Aurinia (AUP) that trades on the venture exchange? It used to be Isotechnika and was a complete failure for investors. The company has a new name, financing and management team. Looks like it wants to move to the upside, I’m looking to take a flyer with a small amount of money.
Thanks
