Q: I hope Peter is doing well on the ride.
I am 61 and need to get more conservative. What are your thoughts on iShares XHY, CBO, CPD and XBB. I see XHY is in your income portfolio but it pays about 6% yet it price varies more than that over 52 weeks.
Should my full service broker charge me fees to buy iShares?

Q: In addition to the secondary offering of units and debentures, Mr Cheskis has offered 200k of his Boyd Group units for sale, once again, leaving him with just 218k holding. Should it be a concern? With this offering, units today, have traded as low as $42.15, with a high of $47.90, not long ago. With so much volatility, do you still consider it as a stable investment with decent upside in future? Is it a strong buying opportunity @42.50 or or still has downside risk? Do you think co. has taken too much debt? Thanks for your valuable insight.
Q: Peter can you please comment onHolloway -esp after its acquisition of Royal . Kim
Q: What is your opinion of Blackbird Energy for a relatively small speculative investment?
Q: ASG ... Aurora Spinal Corp
two comments and a question
1. I realize Sept is consistently a poor month for the market
2. I realized the risk when I invested in a small position
today ASG is down to $1.99.They have approximately 15 months operating cash before they have to raise new funds.
Is there anything new since your last comment that sets of alarms or is encouraging.
Thanks for all you do

Q: Have held LIF for sometime for the dividend and eventual appreciation when raw material prices increase. The share price has dropped significantly in the past few weeks and I am thinking of buying some more at these low prices. Is the price drop due to something negative about the company or just market reaction to low Iron Ore prices. When do u see a turnaround in the Ore prices
Q: CXI Currency Exchange International. Would like your thoughts on the quarterly release.
Please consider covering this company. It is growing at a significant pace, has a banking license on the horizon and seems to trade at a very reasonable valuation.

Q: Hi,
The 3rd Quarter results Com Dev shows the declined revenue affected by US gov budget. The good messages from the report are the improved commercial revenue as well as the increased revenue stream from extracEarth.
Do you think the current price dip offers a buying opportunity?
Thank you

Q: Hi 5i team, if Contran (CSS) shareholders reject the offer by Transforce should we be concerned with holding this company moving forward? Does the action of management and the board (recommending we accept the Transforce offer) not demonstrate incompetence or at the very least very poor judgement? Are you still comfortable recommending this company knowing the board does not appear to place it's shareholders interest first? Thank you.

Q: I just happily renewed my subscription to 5i. Thanks for the reminder.
Question regarding BYD.UN (Boyd Income Group): Can you provide this year and next year's expected earnings per share estimates? My Investor's Edge and iTrade don't seem to provide this info for this stock. My best estimate is $2.10 for this year and $2.35 for next year which would give Boyd an 18ish p/e for 2015 with still lots of predictable, repeatable growth in the subsequent years. Am I in the ballpark or out to lunch?
Thanks.

Q: Peter and Team,
What are your thoughts on new purchases of Apple today following their product presentations. It seems like they are adding a whole new revenue stream to their business with the electronic wallet on the new devices. It makes me wonder if now is a good time to buy for the long term (i.e. 5 years+).
Marc

Q: Hello and thanks for all of the great responses and reports.
I bought MG in the $35 range and have enjoyed the run up but think it is pretty much fully valued. I have trimmed some earlier this year and would like to move out of it into a lifeco which most folks seem to think have more room to run. Which big boy do you think has better upside SLF or MFC?
Thanks
Jerry

Q: Your good work Peter is driving me crazier.
I am basically the 1.2% man…lots of savings accounts.
So,your suggestions at this time for my 23 year old daughters $36,000 TFSA account would be appreciated…it is presently,of course,in cash!
She has no reason to need these funds for the next 10 years at least. Thanks
john
