Q: Good morning. Unfortunately, I have a large part of my holdings locked into a company RRSP program. There are decent, not great, mutual funds to choose from. I have about 18 years to retirement and am almost 100% in equities. What would your rough advice be for %-age in large cap dividend, midcap, and small cap be? With funds it is tough to get as low a weighting in financials and materials as you recommend. Amy suggestions? Thanks, as always for your excellent service!
Q: Hi Peter and team, great job as usual. Are you contemplating a US model portfolio? If not , I have 50K US to invest for a 3-5 year period, obviously I would like to keep it in US$, hence US stocks. Risk tolerance, moderate. Could you recommend a diversified portfolio with a 5% weighting. I have absolutely no knowledge of US Stocks. Thanks for all your great advice. Ivan
Q: I believe we are on the cusp of a technology super cycle - vehicles/homes/workplace. What are some companies poistioned to benefit from this cycle?
Q: Can you give us a more detailed analysis of CXI at this point? Was there any more information given on the most recent earnings call provided more information?
Q: Cud you advise if there is a site that would have a calendar of Canadian stock splits for 2015 updated quite regularly.
Tnx for your great work.

Q: Can we get your thoughts on the latest Globe and Mail article on the Amaya investigation? I've noticed that the G&M seems to have a constant barrage of negative articles on Amaya.

Does the AMF have to report the results of their investigation at a certain date or could this drag on for years?

Q: At times we want to take money off the field of play and sit it on the sidelines for any number of reasons. I have used money market funds for this purpose in the past. I have been reading that these are not guaranteed even though most people think of them that way. Please give us your take on this and any alternate suggestions for short term sideline holdings. Thank you.
Q: Hi 5i:
I'm underweight materials (some TV only) and think I should add some to be properly diversified. I'm thinking about First Quantum for copper, or a uranium stock. Do you have any opinion about which is likely to come back into vogue first? Or do you think I should pick up some gold (I have none of that either).

Q: My 5% position has fallen to 3% with G's decline. I'm considering topping it up to 5% again or taking a position in another gold company. G is my only gold company, and miner for that matter. One concern is the talk of rate hikes looming and golds getting hit further. Your opinion please?
Q: Could you give me your view 6-12 months for hwo and crr.un
Q: Osisko was a stable royalty co having the royalty on just the original mine but now it is teaming up with Oban and a mix of 5 jnr gold cos. Do you think this is a riskier company now or do you, as some articles say, is the start of another good quality gold mining team amalgamating postage stamps into one company.
Q: "We’re increasingly of the view that quarterly earnings are mostly noise,” she (Eileen Mercier, director at IFC) said. “I tend to think of the income statement in most industries as a work of fiction. It has become so complicated that most people can’t understand them or read them anyway.”
If we de-emphasize the importance of the quarterly report, in part because it is unaudited and therefore open to manipulation, should we therefore pay far more attention to the audited annual report, especially the MD&A section?
I know that 5i looks at the quarterly numbers partly because so many questions come from subscribers on assessing reported and expected numbers. What I'm curious about in the 5i process is what percentage of the company research process is put into analyzing the annual reports of say the last 5 years of an average company?
The whole article on quarterly reporting is here: http://business.financialpost.com/legal-post/the-case-for-ditching-the-quarterly-financial-report-mostly-noise

Q: Hello,
WSP has been loosing value lately and down 10% in a month. My WSP holdings are about 4% of my portfolio (sector total 10%). Should I be concerned? What's your current view on the stock? Give the current market is it a buy, sell, or hold?
Thanks.

Q: I am looking at adding CPH to my portfolio. Would you suggest starting with a half position in todays market? Also I am wondering how to interpret the company's goals. For example, they are targeting $1biln cap by 2020. Based on the current number of shares (26million) that is a stock price of almost $40. Is this what management is suggesting here?
Q: what do you think of management hiring an outside source to sell some or all the company would this be a good time to buy. thanks.
Q: Your thoughts on Freeport Mc...FCX...would this be a good time to get in?
Q: I purchased Cipher Pharmaceutical during jan.'15 at $17.60/share. It is now down to $11.11/share (37% loss). The fundamentals look pretty good (e.g. forward PE of 9.56). I would appreciate if you could fill me in about why you think it has tanked so badly and what is your outlook for it?
