Q: I only have enough money to buy two of your companies in the growth portfolio. These are for very long term holds and higher risk. I want "buy and forget" two companies in my RRSP for 5 to 10 years plus, and I wonder if you favour any of them for a 5 bagger or more in that time frame. I would have leaned towards the smaller companies in the portfolio, but then I look at the rest of my portfolio and I note things like CSU have gone up for me more than five times and they weren't exactly tiny when I bought them! Thanks again.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,
This company announced the re-organization to create two oil-focused companies.
Under this structure, shareholders of Dee Three will receive 0.5 shares of Boulder Energy, and 0.33 shares of Granite Oil Corp, while the latter company will pay a monthly dividend of 0.03 of each Grsnite shares.
Do you think this is a positive move for share holders?
I am currently holding this stock, which is 3% weIghting of my p/f.
Should I continue to hold and make the transfer to these two new companies when approval is obtained?
Thank you for your advise as always.Pui

Q: I reduced my utility sector exposure to zero a few weeks ago due to the potential for rising interest rates. I know you don't favor reducing sector exposure to zero and given the potential delays in a Fed rate hike as highlighted by the minutes released today, I am considering scaling back into the sector. Would you favor Brookfield Infrastructure or Renewable Energy? Are there any other large infrastructure companies?
Thanks,
Jason

Q: Good Morning
Today BIP.UN announced an equity offering of $890,000 at the issue price of $45.00. The stock fell 2.2% to $55.95. Will this offering affect the price of the stock?
I will also appreciate any comments on BIP.UN going forward. I am ahead about 27% on this stock and wondering whether I should sell.
Thank you as always

Q: Hi,
I read your response about Rio Tinto. I'm currently deciding between Rio and BHP for exposure to the materials sector. I currently have a small 2% position in Western Forest Products, but no base metal exposure. Which do you prefer between BHP and Rio and do you prefer the super majors vs canadian companies like First Quantum and Lundin?

Q: I have held MTY since about $13.00 and the pace of its growth has slowed lately. Could you please comment on their 1st quarter results, (same store sales still not picking up) and perhaps help to convince me it is time to say thanks and move on. I am considering replacing it with 2 or 3 selections from the new growth portfolio that I don't already own. I currently own AVO, CXI,DRT,GXI,PHM,PUR,SCR from the new portfolio as well as AW.UN.
Thanks for the great advice

Q: Where can I find a free weekly report of the increase/decrease of number of shorts and longs of companies? Am grateful for the very helpful information you guys provide. Thank you.
Q: Not the stock. Relative Strength Index and the question is can you tell me where I can find this information when researching stocks, or how to calculate RSI if the former is not easily available online (isn't everything available easily online?)
Q: Could I get your thoughts on this latest piece of news regarding the Amaya trading saga?

Q: Hi Peter & Team,
I would like to add Wi-Lan but I would need to sell a company in the same sector in order to make room for it. I'm trying to keep the sector at around 15%. I was thinking of selling Descartes Systems (DSG) in order to make room for Wi-Lan. Please let me know what you think of this switch. Which company do you prefer? Thanks, Mario.

Q: As the share price of WEF was declining yesterday, the volume of trading doubled from its average of 2M to 4M shares. Does this indicate a single acquirer for a good portion of the transactions on the day? Trying to read the unusual activity as the share price declines.
Thanks

Q: Hello Peter and Team
With the recent success in the Software sector, my RRSP portfolio is very heavily overweight in this sector. I would like your advice on trimming and rebalancing to sectors other than financial or energy that are also overweight.
I currently have now 40% in CSU, DSG, ESL, MDA (with large gains) and SYZ and AVO with significant losses over last year or so.
Would you suggest trimming all back to much smaller positions or eliminating 2 or 3 companies altogether?
With the funds, what 2 or 3 new positions from the new growth portfolio should I consider?
A second question will follow on my Financials!
Thanks for all the help
Peter

Q: Would like to thank Roger regarding the downtime at TD Waterhouse. I lost funds on a trade which I tried to place and 12:00 pm through webbroker, called and was put on hold for 2 hours before a response. I expressed my concern, which went on deaf years and have called and sent 3 emails. I still hold my position today with a sell order in place because of the falling price

Q: Hi 5i:
I'd appreciate your comments on two companies. First, DHX seems to be on a steady slide and RBC Direct gives no news. Is there any news? Second, ATS has also been disappointing for a while. What do you think of its prospects over the next year or so? Thanks.

Q: I have held RIO for some time hoping that it would recover. I realize it is cyclical but would like your opinion on whether it is worth holding or whether there is a better place for my money.
Really appreciate this service. Thanks, as always,

Q: I’ve held this for many years and it is finally moving . I have my finger poised on SELL , but am delaying as the chance to finally make some profit on this is tempting. Should I hang on?
Q: Good morning,
The recent update from Input Capital seems to have created a very negative reaction in the market. I would appreciate your opinion upon the stock as a possible purchase at this point.
Thank you.
