Q: Hey Peter and Co.
I am thinking about getting into covered call writing on some of my dividend stocks. I'm reading up on the strategy mostly from Alan Ellman's Complete Encyclopedia For Covered Call Writing.
I really don't want the stocks I have to get called so I'm thinking about just writing out of the money calls to add income to my portfolio. What is your opinion on OTM covered call writing and covered calls in general?

On the Aberdene webpage they show(un-audited) the Nav/Price Premium currently as 12.07%(as at Jan 14, 2013). Difficult for me to buy an 8% yield with 12% risk.

Q: Peter; If you were trimming your pipeline holdings because they have become too high a % of the total where would you invest the proceeds keeping in mind income is a prime requirement? Thanks.

I`ve noticed that HLF has been doing exceedingly well of late .Do you expect this to continue for the rest of the year . Is it as solid a company as it would appear ?
Also with the debt ceiling issue in the USA fast approaching should we likely hold off on taking on new positions until this passes .

Q: Is there a way you can make it so that when we click on an answer it opens and then if we click on another, the first stays open?

Right now, I have to click one, print, then click on another and print. Letting it stay open would likely let you print three questions, as well as their answers, all on one page.

Q: I was wondering if a Caldwell Partners CWL would turn up through your screening process.Reinstituting a dividend after a four year absense caught my attention.
The company has done one financing in it's 24 year public life and yet being a small microcap has a 30% instituitional base.

Q: Hi Peter, I am a new member, and I have a question on a closed end fund that gets very little coverage despite a great yield (8%). I have a position in Aberdeen Asia Pacific, FAP on Toronto. My Dad has held this company for over 20+ years and he said it has never missed a payment. What do you think, is it reasonably safe for son to follow his Dad's advice?

Q: Hi, I just recently joined this website, and I am enjoying all the great information. I have a lot of Reits and recently took a position in Timbercreek TMC on Toronto for my TFSA. A lot of the TV experts seem to think that the average retail investor should be scared of this one. Did I make a mistake?

Q: I have been holding TLM for a few years and held on to it during the highs. Has anything happened in the last few months that would make this a hold or would it be wise to exit, at least temporarily, until it starts looking more positive?
