Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: When evaluating a business, how much time would you suggest someone spend on their due diligence? For example, after learning that MRS was added to the 5i portfolio, how much time (ballpark) should someone put into it before initiating a 1-2% position . The reason I ask is because as soon as I hear about a good opportunity, I instantly feel like I am under the gun to make a decision to either buy or move on. I understand this is quite subjective, but I'm curious whether it is 2 hrs, 10 hrs, or 50 hours....
Thanks

Q: Could you please provide your comments regarding the above companies. How would you rank them in terms of a 3 year hold as regards risk/growth possibilities.

Thanks

Q: MRS looks interesting. Can you paint 2 different scenarios for the company going forward. First is a positive one where things go as the company hopes they will and the second where things don't pan out. What might be expected in each - revenue and earnings-wise and what impact might it have on stock price. I'm trying to assess the best and worst case scenarios.

Q: Lot of investors with astronomical results pick up good companies way earlier than others. I am following some people on Twitter with results of like 1000% in one year. How do you identify these companies early when they have minimal revenues but something in demand. What would be the top 5 go to stocks in this category in Canada and US which no one really knows much about and with not much analyst following?

Q: Do you know what factors have contributed to Mission Ready's huge increase in revenue growth (aside from winning better contracts)? From 2012 to 2018, the most they generated was 8.5M, and then as you've indicated, they generated roughly 21M and 60M in 2019 and 2020 respectively. I assume some of 2020's growth can be attributed to COVID, but 2019 and Q1-2020 not so much. Any insight into their recent success would be welcomed.

Q: Hi guys. I know I’ve harped on this before. When you have a newsletter with thousand of subscribers and you reccomend illiquid stocks it creates frustration with your readers.
For instance with mrs an opening position for me wound be $50000 which is fully half the volume on Thursday. If I put in a market order which I wouldn’t I alone would drive the price up by @approx 20%.
How do readers like me get to participate? Especially on the Venture?
