For a retired investor with a reasonably safe and conservative RRIF—who also does some consulting and has accumulated some extra cash—could you recommend two stocks with strong potential to double within the next year?
I understand that opportunities with this level of upside are inherently volatile and could decline 50–75%, but I’m comfortable with that risk for a small portion of my portfolio. It still feels like a better bet than buying hundreds of lottery tickets.

I assume the book value of stck is mark to market . As such without knowing its cost basis for its shares how can one determine the change in book values once the ipo happens. I expect a very heavy uptake of the ipo shares

Q: I saw ASTL as a top pick on BNN by Healy a couple of weeks ago. I don't like it when stocks don't have a dividend but I do like jumping into beat up stocks in my TSFA. It has done well since I bought it.
