Q: Hi, Sandstorm Gold (SSL) seems to be falling more than both gold and many gold stocks lately. Can you please comment on their recent results and what you see for the future. Are there other gold names you would prefer? I also already own Argonaut (AR) & B2 (BTO). Thanks!

Q: I currently have no direct holdings whatsoever in either the Canadian REIT or Utility sectors (other than a large index position via XIU). What would be your top 1 or 2 names in each of these sectors suitable for new buying right now? Rather than holding just 1 or 2 names would a sector ETF be more advisable and if so which ETFs for each would you recommend? Thanks and great service.

Q: Are you planning an update to your MTY Foods report? The stock is up almost 100% since your last one. I find a lot of comfort in this stock in that a) the company is executing well and b) the share price should be buffeted as it can't be very easy for the 326,100 shorts to cover when float is fairly small, the shares are tightly held and average daily trading volumes is only 13,700 shares. Q: First I would like you to know how much I appreciate the model portfolio that you added to your site. I follow it regularly and have gradually been adding companies to my own investment portfolio based on your model. My question has to do with investment/portfolio management. When a company is added to the model portfolio, are there any expectations as to how long a company will be held and what would cause you to sell a position? Thank you.

Can you provide an alternative to Mart at this point? It has been a frustrating stock to hold notwithstanding the conditions they are operating in. Any update on their new pipeline? I wonder too if the new pipeline they are working on will even help eliminate "pipeline losses" or are they still vulnerable?

Q: Re: life insurance companies, especially SLF
One of the managers on BNN claimed that he will sell the bonds in a RRSP and instead buy SLF, as its performance is inversely proportional to the performance of bonds as interest rates slowly rises
Is the statement correct ?
Instead of just buying the SLF, is there an ETF in the Canadian
market that will have a basket of Canadian insurances companies?
