Q: I am up substantially on RPI.UN and it is becoming a bigger position in my portfolio than you probably would advocate (pushing 12%). On the other hand, it seems to have broken above a fairly long term resistance level of about $10. Any thoughts about the outlook for the stock would be appreciated as would be your thoughts on when to pull the trigger in such cases.
Q: My question is regarding ITP-Intertape Polymer. It has a gain 0f 43% over the past year. However,it is now down 26% from its high two months ago, and trading at values last recorded about five months ago. On Nov. 19/13 you thought the decline of 13% was likely due to profit taking.I have not been able to find any reason for the stocks decline. I spoke to the company and its next reporting date is around Mar.7/14.
My question is if I should accept my loss of 23% now and move on, or wait until after the next results and see what they are and then decide what to do. I am looking for growth over the next 12 to 18 months
Thank you for this excellent service and I am looking forward to your reply. Ian.
Q: Hi Peter and team,
I am enjoying your service very much and learning a lot. My portfolio is lacking in the Manufacturing sector - could you please advise on a good buy that also offers a nice dividend. Thank you.
Q: Peter & 5i Team : Any recommendations for a good portfolio management system (free or not) ? I find that I am spending a lot of time trying to sort out sector weightings, dividends, etc. for multiple portfolios (x 2 people). I would love to find something more useful and comprehensive than what is currently available through my discount broker.

Q: Hi 5i team and fellow members. With respect to Holly's question on shorting the US dollar...FXC is likely the cleanest way and my preferred method. It also has options available if you can not sell short the ETF in your account. There are occasional liquidity issues and wide bid/ask spreads, however. There is also a US dollar currency option on the Montreal exchange (http://www.m-x.ca/nego_cotes_en.php?symbol=USX*). This is tradable in my RRSP through TD Waterhouse so should be available through other brokerages.
Q: STN is still rated A in the model portfolio despite its rise in price. What are the ratings based on? I ask because STN is probably not as good a buy as it was a few months ago. Tx in advance.
Q: You mentioned that Macro Enterprises (MCR) "seems well managed". Are you able to provide a further view on the quality of management, and have you met with any of the principals. In the end they will be key to the success (or otherwise) of the company.
Many thanks. Great service.
Q: hello 5i:
SGC has been very volatile the last few days, and I'm not sure why. Can you comment on the reason for volatility (if known) and on the companys remarks in the last update.
thanks
I know you've commented on DHX quite a bit recently, but my question pertains more to whether you would be a buyer at today's price? Valuation suggest it remains a tad expensive, but the company is expectected to keep growing aggressively. My question is - would you be a buyer of DHX at current levels? Do you view DHX as a takeout canadidate? Would you prefer Sylogist to DHX as a small cap tech play?
Q: About aston hill,ahf
I am surprised that this stock has not been doing much.compared to stocks that compare like glusken.
What do you think of the outlook for aston and is it a buy here?
It has a nice dividend, is it save?
Do you also think it will be taken over?
Q: Can you please comment on the four graham stocks mentioned in the article of the latest edition of the CMS. Hfc (hollyfrontier) in particular looks promising. Thoughts? Thanks as always.
Q: ok guys, you keep recommending macro, you say it is risky which I get, but it just keeps going down.i own 10000 shares, do I abandon it or hang on, more importantly my question is what will drive this stock higher. dave
I have held WIN for for a long time and no matter how many deals they seem to sign the litigation costs seem to eat into any revenue gains. Is it time to move on to other opportunities?
