Q: hello 5i:
Concerning AGU: Three quarterly missed earnings in a row is cause for concern (for me at least, and I believe I read somewhere that for you as well). Now, they have problems with their Daysland plant. I've sold (at a profit) as I've lost confidence in the company to execute. I still like the space but am cautious about POT. Can you suggest options, even if they are in the US? btw, I'm a GARP guy, if that helps.

Q: Would you generally agree with the gist of the following comment made by Genevieve Roch-Decter,Portfolio Manager LDIC Inc on BNN this week. If so, would most of the Cdn infrastructure/service/pipe cos highly benefit from this trend, specifically ALA, BAD, BDI,GEI, MCB, HNL, KEY, IPl, PPL? Thank-you. "We are in the early innings of an energy investment super cycle that will see nearly $1 trillion in spending by 2025 and over 1 million jobs created. These are numbers published by the American Petroleum Institute on a study they did in December. Last year there was about $90 billion spent in North America on energy infrastructure and we are only a few years into this super growth phase".
Q: Could you please comment on Aurora Spine and Knight Therapeutics(ASG ad GUD on the Venture)? Which is the better speculative investment or is it worthwhile to buy both? Thanks.
Q: Would you please analyze the 2013 Q4 results of PHO and give guidance on the stock? Thank you!
Q: What is you opinion about XTR ( fund of fund) ?.Thank you.ebrahim
Q: hi , i would like to know if you can recommend any graphite or graphene type stocks that look like they may have good potential future upside .thanks
Q: Hi,
My husband and I own about 70% of the stocks in your equity portfolio plus a few U.S. stocks. We have no fixed income and would like to start adding it from your income portfolio.
We plan to only add the ETFs, but don't have the money for all 5. We can probably only buy 3 right now, maybe a 4th next year. Can you rank them in the order we should buy them? We are looking for stability since we are so heavily invested in equities, but also for some income.
Also, we just sold a U.S. Stock and we have our acount set up on auto wash so that it keeps the proceeds from the sale in U.S. Funds. We are thinking of busing a US ETF for the S &P as we already have a mid cap IWO. Can you recommend any S &P indexes trading on the U.S. exchange, rather than Canadian?
Thanks so much,
Carla

Q: Rob Carrick had an article recently in the Globe and Mail: "Why it may be time to move away from dividend stocks". He refers to CDZ and suggests replacing it with the iShares S&P/TSX Capped Composite Index ETF. What is your take on his strategy, and on dividend stocks in general at this phase of the economic cycle?
Q: Hi Peter. I hold LIQ in an RRSP,down over 20%.Up with PKI. Should I sell the profits from PKI and buy more LIQ. I like the income on LIQ, but wondering if I should sell and move on. I like to buy and hold , 3 to 5 Years. Thanks for you wonderful service.
Q: What are your current sector waitings for moderate to aggressive investors? Thank you
Q: Hello Peter....Now with a diversified portfolio, I'm looking to sort the existing holdings and new additions between 3 accounts - new TSFA, adding to non-registered account and managing an existing LIRA account that is can be drawn down beginning in 2107. I'm doing this because of the different income tax rates related to gains, dividends and interest as outline in recent 5iR Q&As. It would be helpful to me to know the holdings in the model portfolio and the income portfolio that you consider to be foremost growth oriented. For those, I would allocate to the TFSA. And I take it for ones like Surge that is growth oriented but with a high yield of about 8%, you would consider assigning it to the non-registered account. And ideally, fixed income and trusts would be held within the LIRA account. Thanks for the guidance......Tom M

Q: A friend recently brought up an investment opportunity for puddle pond resources, a junior mining company located in newfoundland. How can you properly research these companies that are not listed yet? The news articles on their website sound promising, but I also know they are trying to raise cash. I have never invested in unlisted companies and would appreciate any info you can provide.
Q: I am underinvested in US stocks - my USD account is only 1/30 of my portfolio.
1. I have missed some great opportunities and I can't buy anything without incurring 11.3% exchange ... HOWEVER People are talking about 15% exchange in coming months.
2. I don't wish to be too late in play if the CAD returns to Par.
3. What is the smart money doing ?
I guess it is best to inch into these things ...
You talk about having 1/5 in US equities and I'm not even close !...
