Q: Hello to all ...my question regards the Bernanke announcement of pull back on bond buying by the fed. Is this the precursor to stopping ALL QE in 2013 and then raising interest rates at some time in 2014? And are hyou people still confident interest rates will stay low till late 2014 ?

Q: Hi 5i team,
My wife's portfolio is heavily overweight on BCE. Given the recent sentiment on dividend paying stocks from the potential for increases in the interest rates, I was thinking about bringing the weighting down and reinvesting in VIG. Would you recommend this switch based on the potential upside between the two or would there be another stock that you would recommend in lieu?
Thanks as always.

Q: Hi 5i,
Given today's market correction, i'm looking to opportunistically buy some income oriented stocks. What's your top pick in the space given today's reaction (possible over-reaction). I am currently looking at the basket play (XRE-T) and Brookfield Office Properties (BOP.UN-T). Thoughts?

Q: With the recent declines in the gold sector my exposure to gold has dropped from about 15% to 7%. I have been adhering to your "do nothing" approach and as I write this gold is down another $75 dollars this morning before the market open. I am considering increasing my exposure. Would you endorse such a move (i.e.trying to time a bottom) or would you advise sticking with the "do nothing" approach until there is a meaningful upward move in the price of gold or gold stocks.
Q: This is for a fixed income component of a taxable account. Preferred share ETF's, such as CPD, have dropped 2% or more in the last month. Are they still a good place to invest, or is it time to bail, take a loss and move on to short term bonds, or after the recent declines, is this a good buying opportunity.
Q: Hi Peter and team,
Would you see the recent pullback in Badger Lighting as a buying opportunity?
Much appreciated as always.

Q: Hi,
I'm gradually building an RSP for my daughter who is in her late twenties. For her, although age might allow more risk, a 'stable' combination of growth and dividends is what I 'm looking for. To get international exposure, she has HAZ-TO and PEY (U.S.). Would you switch to VIG or add to either of these?

Q: I'm not sure if there is an answer which can be given so I apologize in advance if that is true. The markets don't appear to like Bernanke's statements going by market action from 2 PM on and tonight's futures. My question is what should we be watching for in the near future to determine whether this is knee-jerk or the start of a serious reaction.
I know the obvious--whether the market goes up or down but is there anything else to watch such as extent, duration of any down, volume or some other internals. Are previous support levels still relevant in any panic?
Bryon in Elmira.

Q: Could you please remind me why Amaya private placement announcement is a good thing?
Q: The view expressed on BNN tonight is that dividend stocks are going to take a big hit because of the changing interest rate environment. I am concerned because I am very much a dividends first investor. Could you comment, and, by the way, keep up the good work. David

Q: ENT. Further to your comments that they might have to raise more capital-equity or debt-would you buy now or wait for the dust to settle over the summer? I've been watching for a while and the stock is static right now-not followed very much.
