Q: Hi Peter, my son holds shares of BlackBerry (BB). Will those BB shares be converted in Fairfax Financial shares, or will they be converted in cash when the time comes? Should he simply keep his shares and wait? Thanks, Gervais

Q: I have owned Crescent Point CPG since 2008. I have been happy with the gains I originally made along with the nice monthly dividend. I think it is time to sell it given the rather poor performance that last few years. What would you suggest to replace it in this space? I don't have any other oil producers in my portfolio, just some pipelines. Joe
Q: Thank you for your informative answer on NPI. I, of course, now want to know what you DO think is the best stock in the sector!

Q: Hi Peter ,
Any thoughts on Northern Dynasty (NDM) now that Anglo America has pulled out of the Pebble partnership? NDM now owns 100% of the project and realized the benefit of Anglo spending $541 million on it over the last 5 years. With the massive deposit of 81 billion pounds of copper and 107 million ounces of gold as well as molybdenum what is the probability of NDM making a new deal, perhaps with Rio Tinto who currently owns 19% of NDM?
I know its a junior and the resource sector stinks but may this be a good entry point for a patient investor?
Thanks.

Q: Timbercreek Mortgage Investment Corp. (TMC) will be converting their Class A Shares to a new voting class of Common Shares. I have the option of receiving the new shares or to receive a cash redemption for my Class A Shares equal to the Net Redemption Value (NRV).
According to Timbercreek's web site the NRV for Class A Shares is $9.33 (minus 6 to 9 cents in costs) (as of Sept 23/13). My TMC shares are in a RSP account, are $600 below book value & presently pay a 7% dividend. Do you have any thoughts on whether I should hold onto the shares or accept the cash redemption if the present NRV is to be believed? Thanks.

Q: What are your thoughts on Brookfield Asset Management (BAM.a)?
Q: I know you have answered many questions on DCI already. Just wondering since the price drop of Direct Cash do you consider it a buy, sell or hold? I hold 100 shares in my LIRA at a cost of $20.00 per share. Thanks.
Q: Hi, new member since this weekend.
I took profits on quite a few stocks (cgi, hcg, plb, rkn), perhaps selling was not justified. I just felt these stocks had gone straight up and the market also, so there should be some kind of pause or correction in the usual September/October time frame (especially with the budget issue in the US).
So I am a bit confused as to how to put the money back into the market and the lack of recent correction ?
thanks

Q: Hi Peter and team;
Thanks for the great service. I am building positions with A and B rated stocks. So far I have bought Stantec, Enghouse, BNS. I am looking at adding another stock, my goals are long term hold (5 years) and looking for dividend growth potential and stock price appreciation. At this time, is their one stock you would recommend.
Tks
Kevin

Q: Hi Peter - I would be interested in your opinion on Cabo Drilling (CBE). It has been languishing in the 4 to 5 cents range for some time now but seems to have potential: a book value of 0.31, current ratio of of 2.4, some insider trading and not overly diluted for a penny stock at 79 million shares. The debt to capital ratio is 22% and am just wondering if this is a concern. Anyways I would be glad to hear your view on the possible upside of this stock. Thanks.
Q: Hi, can you share the asset allocation for your model portfolio (e.g. financials, energy, consumer staples, etc.). I could not find it on your website. Thank you.
Q: Hi Peter I would like your opinion on Norbord I am 76 and like dividend stocks with some growth prospects. NBD appears cheap - div $2.40 free cash flow $4.91 GROWTH dependent on US new housing recovery - maybe a moderately high debt load - willing to hold until US housing recovers is this too risky? Paul
