Q: What company is just starting to pay dividends and has a very promising outlook (similar to as WCP did .. But not necessarily the same sector)?
Thanks, I appreciate your service very much
Q: My husband is is wanting me to invest in DI.Un in our joint investment account as the dividend is a high 9%. We are seniors and looking for income. Would this be a good bet? I would be grateful for your opinion.
EFN was supposed to release results after close today. I do not see them anywhere. Any idea where we can see them and can you also comment on the results. Thanks
Q: Hi Peter and Team, in regards to Badger, BAD, is there any way to find out how much of their revenue was related to the Alberta and Toronto floods in 2Q and 3Q? From what I have been told and understand, and please correct me if I am wrong, their units were going non stop during these floods (draining buildings, basements, city/town clean ups, etc etc) and must have assisted greatly in their quarterly revenues. If this is the case then how will their revenues be impacted in the next two or three Q's to follow?
Thanks for picking BAD, I believe it has served a lot of members very well, along with your other picks as well. Thanks!
Q: I was disturbed by Bruce's question re US citizens owning 'foreign' stocks. My wife and I are both dual Candian/US citizens and we live in Canada. We own 100% Canadian dividend stocks in a joint portfolio, two TFSAs and a RIF. We will not buy US stocks as the IRS takes 20% of the dividend right off the top while the Canadian tax man gives us a break on dividends. Do you know of any problems we might face, other than paying our accountant about $1700 a year to fill out our ridiculously complicated income tax returns?
Q: AVO announced a bought deal at $24.10/share closing around Nov. 24th. the current price is $29.50. Will AVO gap down to the bought deal stock price of $24.10 as Nov. 24th approaches OR is that irrelevant?
Q: Peter, I currently hold aya, avo, syz, sum and rfc in a small cap portfolio that is doing very well. I realize the risk in that group but am ok with it for now. I am considering switching RFC for Lonestar as the valuation is getting up there. Your thoughts please or is there another high growth company you prefer such as DHX? Thanks for this great service.
Q: Hi 5I Team:
Am looking at GH and see you have not commented for a while. How do you view buying this stock here?
Love reading your investment question section, as well as all the other good information.
Thanks,
Barbara
Q: Re: HCG
This stock has pulled back from 82 down to around 78
there does not seems to be any negative news
what do you think is going on ?
could I add to my position or just hold ? Thanks
Q: Good morning, I hold a small position in Easyhome (EH) and I am thinking of adding to the position. However the price has been selling off for 3 weeks and is now below $13.50, well below the recent financing of $14.85. I am wondering if there is a problem that I am not aware of. Can I get your thoughts?
Thanks, Tim.
Q: Your excellent service is much appreciated.
I do not understand the hammering that Easyhome (EH) is suffering this morning. Their earnings look good to me and the financing at $14.85 doesn't appear to be out of line. The drop to $13.23 is puzzling.
Should I try to catch the falling knife and average down?
Ed
Q: Hi Peter, Just wondering about the #'s from EQI, if you could comment; as well as the response they had to Smoothwater.
Finally, what was with the conference call...11 minutes long! It's like they were paying by the second.
Q: So further to my BAD question this morning, Rifco Inc. (RFC) reported earnings this morning. Things on the surface seem great as well, but loan losses increased and op expenses which could potentially eat into margins; cashflow overall is up. So for this company, for future reporting's, monitor loan loss and expense creep and that cashflow is in a comparable range? - Cheers.
