Q: 3 excellent stocks in your potfolio.Note that recently the advances of Cgx & SJ stalled @ $52-52.50 & $50 respectively. Please explain. On the other hand,Syz took its time to break the $8 & $9 resistances, now just on top($10.08) of the $10 resistance with next resistance @ $11.It could be a multi bagger as previously suggested. Thanks for your usual great services & opinions.Looking forward to seeing Ryan,ex Vancouverite this Friday on Bnn

Q: Hi, Sylogist continues to buy back its stock significantly under new NCIB, most recent being 99,700 shares for $9.99 on June 17. I know it's a solid vote of company's confidence in its own stock being undervalued. So, is it a good strategy to add to my position alongside the company at current levels $10. My second question is if Sylogist prefers using its cash chest to buy its own stock, does it indicate that new acquisitions are not near the horizon ? Thanks

Q: I don't have a lot of tech exposure in my portfolio and am looking to add. Which of the tech companies in the model portfolio should an investor start buying at this point if you could only buy two? Thanks
Q: Which of these two would you pick, and could you explain why.
Thanks Peter.
Thanks Peter.
Q: Can't seem to find why the trading halt yesterday on Sylogist for their pending news. The stock has not reacted one way or the other. Can you tell me if it was positive or negative for the company.
Q: In reference to Sylogist talking up a dividend cut. My memory may be tainted with a bias towards the last 5 years; however, it seems as if a CEO talks about it -- its a done deal.
Do you have any contrary info?

Q: Hi Peter & Ryan,
While the results looked decent at SYZ; I was caught off guard by the following statment in the the dividend release. "Jim Wilson, President & CEO of Sylogist commented "Moving forward, we can foresee that prudent capital allocation may dictate adjusting our dividend downward to allow us to invest directly in business acquisitions where the opportunity to increase our share's intrinsic value exceeds the value of a pre-tax return of cash to shareholders."
It was also noteworthy that they broke their mini streak of raises every two qtrs. Seems to me by my simple analysis that a very large acquisition is in the works that may eat in to the some or all of the cash pile. Am I reading the tea leaves correctly? Would they really cut, instead of just keeping it flat?
Part of the attraction to this company has been the way the add value to shareholders; so I would defer to management to do what they seem fit to add value; but a potential cut seems to send the wrong message.
Thanks,
J.

Q: What is your opinion of MCB at its current share price.? Are there better values out there? If so could you name some regardless of sector and assuming a diversified portfolio.
Q: Is there anything go account for the welcome lift in Sylogist shares today ? I do note very low volume.
Q: I had to try out your new question format. If you had emoji's I would give it a happy face.
I would like to know which of these two companies you would pick for a 1 year hold or less. Capital appreciation, short term hold would be the push into one or another. Could you treat this as a trade over an investment. Also some of the reasoning behind your decision. I feel that they are at different ends of the spectrum in liquidity, value, type of business, technical, etc.. I am just looking for insight in how you might first make a decision to further research/purchase a stock for a trade (and/or for an investment), but mostly a trade. If you have another name you want to represent here over or instead of the two provided...Please feel free to do so. Thank You J

Q: I noticed Sylogist has a strange looking chart where there is a distinct upward trend from early October. You can almost draw a support line from the lows of about $6. It also hit a new 52 week high today. I'm not sure if this is significant from a technical analysis point of view, or if your team even thinks technicals are worth looking at. Any comments?
Q: I currently owe NYX (NYX Gaming Group) at 3.3% weight and would like to add another technology stock. From your model portfolio would SYZ,DSG or ESL be preferred? I do like the dividend of SYZ but since NYX is considered high risk I would preferred the 2nd technology stock to be stock that I can hold for the long term and is low risk. I don't intend to keep NYX for a long term.
Thanks
Dolores

Q: Large cross of 320,100 shares by Acumen on Friday January 29 at $8.50 on Chi-X Canada exchange. Any significance, specially in light of strong insider buying/co.buy back lately ? Thanks
Q: Hello.
Would you please comment on Insider Buying of SYZ.
Reports show CEO buying most of the shares traded on Jan 25 (37K against total 54K) and a standing order at start of the day today indicates either company or potential insiders continuing to buy.
Should an astute investor be buying with SYZ company purchases or let them hold up the market price and see what happens when company buying backs away?
For broader reference, clearly buying is positive but how dependable is this form of activity toward a positive individual investor outcome?
Thanks for your thoughts on this.
Dave

Q: How would you rank these names for growth potential-SYZ,TNC,PLI,SIS ?Thanx Robbie
Q: Could you please comment on Sylogist results released this morning? There was a mention of "accelerating growth in US market" and "one acquisition target we know well is our own company". How would you explain these notes? Thanks
Q: Hi, I just noticed that Pembroke Management Ltd, started a new position in Sylogist with 2,459,800 shares as at Nov/30/2015, per Morningstar. Is it possible to verify this information and who did they acquire this large block from/price and when? This will place them as the 2nd largest institutional owner (9.84%) of the company after CI Group and Mawer being 3rd. I find this really interesting as , after a steep decline, from a high of $12 and a financing at $11, last year, the stock appears to be showing some traction lately and company is has been buying back its stock aggressively. Thanks
