I have followed your recommendations since inception & have done very well in a number of your positions. Thank you very much !
I am a retiree, with a 3 to 5 year time horizon, like dividends & some growth. My reit & real estate corp. holdings form 17.25% of my portfolio, & some are showing strain since the tapering debate began.- WB, NPR.UN, MRC, MKP, FCR, D.UN, DR.UN, CUF.UN, AP.UN, ACR.UN, all on the TSX.
November would be a good month for me to offset some realized capital gains.
Do you see any "glaring sells" above, or should I just hang in & hope for some sort of recovery. ( there are lots of good buys out there, ( GH, etc, etc).

Q: Denison Mines (DML) offers to by 90% of all the shares of Rockgate Capital (RGT) at 0.192 share for each.
Presently (RGT) @ 0.21$ and (DML) @ 1.10$. The condition of purchase is the acceptance of at least 90% of RGT shares.
The proposition is to tender the shares.
Presently, the share price of RGT reflects the offer (0.192 x 1.10$= 0.21$)
In order to evaluate, if the offer is interesting, sell now, tender or not my shares, I need to know what will happen to the share price of RGT in either of those scenarios:
1- The offer goes through?
2- The offer's condition is not met?

Q: DCI, very high debt., very high payout ratio, very low ROE-can this co. sustain the dividend & will > int. rate have a negative impact on stock price & what about erosion of business as cell phones and other devices are able to conduct more financial transactions?? For most investors, maintaining a balance portfolio is the best way to hedge market risk / volatility (for the purpose of this question, lets ignore the quality and size of companies being purchased, obviously that is extremely important in any scenario). Theoretically, take 11 sectors and try to maintain relative equal weighting (recognizing that it’s impossible to do so perfectly given daily market fluctuations), hence, a ‘perfectly balance’ portfolio would look like:
Utilities – 9.1%
Consumers Staples – 9.1%
Capital Goods / Industrials – 9.1%
Energy – 9.1%
Financials – 9.1%
Health Care – 9.1%
Consumer Cyclical – 9.1%
Transportation – 9.1%
IT – 9.1%
Materials – 9.1%
Telco – 9.1%
Questions:
1. For a client who is willing to go up on the risk curve, are you ok positioning a portfolio overweight / underweight in sectors that you think will outperform / underperform?

3. Finally, I am a 30 year old investor maintaining a small, relatively balance, six figure portfolio. I will be transferring over additional cash to deploy within the coming weeks equal to about 50% of my current portfolio size and am trying to determine how best to position myself in the 11 sectors. I have time on my side, and future cash to invest in coming years, so I’m not overly worried about taking on more risk if I think it can lead to higher returns, but don’t want to be stupid either. As such, assuming I maintain a relative balance of small cap and large cap companies, what weightings do you think I should aim for? How would you position a portfolio TODAY within the 11 sectors for a more ‘risk on’ investor?
