Q: With the merger/takeover news about THI (Tim Hortons) and BKW (Burger King) do you expect to keep the newly formed company in the model portfolio? Or would you re-deploy the capital? And if the latter, into what?
Q: After 3 years of mostly bad luck and bad management TH seems to be picking up steam lately, I assume based on the expected commencement of their FDA approved drug Egrifta. ( mil in cash and no debt. Any thoughts for this new name? Thanks
Q: I am seeing that AVO is picking up again since last 2 days, I was just wondering since it has started moving upward is it the right time for me to buy or are we expecting more volatility until it comes at a fair value?
Q: What is your opinion on Ross Stores Inc (ROST.US)? The financial ratios look impressive and the stock jumped today on better than expected earnings.
I'm interested in buying an industrial stock or etf to fill a hole in my portfolio. I was considering Honeywell or Trinity Industries. What do you think of them as a long term hold or is there another stock/etf that you prefer? Or a Canadian one?
Q: Good morning 5i, in April last year you liked REM, ETF holding mortgage companies. It suffered a large drop in the second half of 2013, what is your current opinion? Is it fairly safe for income? Thank you
Q: Any thoughts on Hammond Manufacturing (HMM.A)? Apparently they make electrical/electronic components. The Globe suggests they are very inexpensive but tiny (18M$ market cap). Is this too small for your followers to be considering? (Do you have advice on a minimum market capitalization for inclusion in our portfolios?)
Q: Peter and Team. Love this service and recommend it as often as I can.
Do you have a preference re IGV.US verses XLK.US ? I am a well diversified investor with the exception of tech and don't want to be a stock picker in this segment. An ETF seems the best way to play tech for me.
Q: Hi Peter, Haven't been around for awhile now, hope you can help me ?
I was looking around at some technology stocks and wanted your opinion on this one.

This is more of a comment than a question. As per your advice, I'm voting to reject the Transforce offer to purchase Contrans. I recently received the "Director's Circular Recommending Acceptance of the Offer.....". As a Scotia iTrade client, I am being told to contact an agent at iTrade with my voting instructions. Strangely, when I phoned, the agent had no information on his system about the vote, and told me to call them back in a week. I was surprised that the all the info was received in the mail but that they're not yet ready to take my vote! I'm wondering if other brokers aren't yet ready to take the vote.
Q: Greetings: It has been mentioned often that CGX is a stock to hold when "times are tough". Would CSW.W also fit in that theme? Also, could you suggest two more? Thank You
Q: Dollarama was downgraded by Neil Linsdell with a 12-month target price of $95.00. Do you think the growth story is still intact? Also, with all the M&A activity surrounding Family Dollar, why hasn't there been much, if any, reaction in Dollarama? Usually there is a bump in share price when there is news of consolidation in a sector.
Can you give me your perspective on Rock Energy. It is near all time highs. Would you hold it if you owned it or would this be a selling opportunity and move on to a different oil stock.
Q: what is your opinion of mcd in light of all the negative publicity of the past year. Is all the bad news behind it and can it grow further from here? thanks
