Q: Upon analysis of my portfolio I found I need to increase my industrial holdings. 4% of my portfolio (my only holding is WSP).Since it might follow that lower energy prices should favour this sector, I would appreciate it if you could suggest a few companies. (both/either Canadian or American). Reasonable risk is acceptable and a decent dividend would be appreciated. As always, thanks in advance for your guidance.
Q: Good evening! I will be liquidity (100% cash) one of my accounts $350,000....20 stocks...most covered by 5i...AYA, ACQ,AVO,MG, CSU,MDA,T, VRX, ESL...I will be doing so prior to Dec 24...I know timing is impossible...but looking for guidance or suggestions on selling off portfolio over the next 5 weeks.
Thanks
Matt

Q: I have had Capstone for about 8 months and I have never had 2 up days with it. I am thinking of switching it for Copper Mountain (CUM) or Lundine (LUN). Your opinion.
What do you think of BLU (Bellus)? It is up substantially this year. Thank you. Dennis

Q: Hello Peter & Co,
I own BTE, CPG, HWO, TOU, VET and WCP in the energy sector (10%) of my RRIF portfolio. I'm thinking of selling CPG (some profit) and BTE (some loss) and shifting the proceeds to the other 4; thus keeping the sector weighting intact.
Your thoughts?
Thanks
Tony

Q: Hello,
Do you have a predetermined number of new reports you try to produce every year ? (understanding that updates to current reports is already time consuming)
With regard to taxes, I never claimed any deductions for the 5i annual fee. Could I add them all and expense it all against 2014 dividend income ?
Thank you

Q: Can you please comment about this small company.Likes and dislikes and its potential.
Q: Further comments re: Nov 17 (M S) comment on DRIPs through TD Waterhouse (TDW). Per my phone call with TDW earlier this year, TDW purchases DRIPs either from treasury (ie: at the discount price) or at market price. Below are some examples TDW provided:
Treasury DRIPS: BNS (Bank of Nova Scotia), TD (TD Bank), T (Telus), WSP (WSP Global)
Market DRIPS: AD (Alaris Royalty), CGX (Cineplex), SGY (Surge Energy).
Publish if you wish.

Q: Hi again Peter & Team,
Scotia iTrade automatically factors in the DRIP discount,if one is offered, when an email request is sent. I personally don't bother with a DRIP UNLESS there's a discount!
In response to the comment from MS, all email accounts should be set to "https". This gives me the confidence to communicate with iTrade via email, and fortunately I haven't had any security issues. (I hope I'm right!)

Q: I own 500 shares of Hse and 1000 shares of Wcp in a non-registered account. If I were to sell one of these and add to the other, which would you suggest or should I just hold both for the long term. I do not have to sell. They are both down.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Hi any update on AXL?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Nice move upwards today.
I need to sell some shares in my RRSP to pay tax bills and I had this one earmarked for the chop. Now I'm wondering if I should hold on for a bit.
The trouble is that whenever I hang on for a further rise after an encouraging increase, the price seems to fall to where it was before.
Was there any news in particular that sparked the rise?

Q: Hi team:
I lost some money on the above, I will hang on to WCP, SU, CNQ
HSE, I heard that there could be more negative reports to come shortly on BTE
I wonder if I sell BTE and move to CEU (Canadian energy services) which pays a nice dividend would be a wise move ? thanks!

Q: Hello Team,
I'm trying to decide between FM & NSU. I will be holding it for the long term. Which do you think will have the better upside? Also do you think the dividend is safe with NSU?
Thanks
Luke

Q: Hello,
I've been holding HAL for 1.5 years. With their recent acquisition of Baker Hughes (BHI), would it be wise to take my profits and exit?
Thank you

Q: Further to comments re drips: I really don't like the suggestion of sending confidential financial information via email unless it's encrypted for security (which Scotia trade may well be, i realize). I made a phone call to TD direct investments and they took care of it in seconds. I confess I don't know if they give the discount.
Q: hi it seems the world is going in the direction of LED lights and lighting systems. I would like to know if you have any thoughts on crs corp or any other manufacturers of LED lighting the may have upside in the markets. thanks again.
Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, 5i Team,
Valeant lost Allergan to Actavis. They still need to do something about their debt. What is your opinion on Valeant following this and do you recommend to hold still?
