Q: Hi
If you could only buy five out of the six above listed stocks at today's prices (for the long term), which stock would you NOT purchase?

Q: This company is getting no respect of late. I thought that opening the TSX this morning would have provided some momentum, which it did to the downside.
Would you consider this a good buying opportunity now that it has a 6 handle or do you think it will languish here indefinitely until a major acquisition occurs. What percentage of a portfolio should this be for an aggressive investor?

Thanks Peter

Cheers

Q: The company has just issued more shares in a bought deal. I am trying to understand if this is beneficial/detrimental to shareholders and the company. In my mind, on the negative side, there is dilution, the stock is to reduce debt (despite the fact that debt should be cheap these days) and not for acquistion, and it brings to market more shares when the shares of this company haven't done much for quite a while anyway.

On the plus side, it brings attention to the company since the underwriters will now be beating the bushes to sell the stock and less debt should increase company flexibility should a deal come down the road.

I know you like companies that don't tend to issue stock. Should this deal be viewed as negative? Also, I assume the difference between the share price to the underwriters and current market price is the dealers profit. Typically, how long will dealers hold onto shares to ensure they don't flood the market and lower the share price vs. sell the new shares in an orderly fashion to maximize their profits.

Appreciate your insight.

Q: Stock has really languished for a while. I would have thought that with concerns of cord cutting a content provider like this that could get their product out over any media and platform would be in demand. Is this simply a case of investors being fixated on oil and other things? I know you tend to like to invest on momentum but this company seems to be doing movign forward, signing deals, they have done it before and they are in the right industry. OK to average down on this one?

Thanks for your insight.

Q: The Financial Post recently ran a complimentary piece on DHX and their latest activities:
http://business.financialpost.com/executive/halifax-based-dhx-media-grows-up-and-takes-things-to-the-next-global-level

It's good to know they're not standing still in terms of dealmaking; perhaps it's the time of year but the market doesn't seem to be paying attention and we'll have to wait for analysts to come back from vacation for the stock to move or do you think the stalled equity raise is creating an overhang?

Your Sept. report states rating maintained at B implying there is an earlier report but I show this as the only one. What am I missing? Thanks, J.

Q: Hi guys,

According to a Halifax newspaper article, DHX will co-produce 130+ episodes of original animation + acquire rights to 1,000 half hours of Dreamworks kids shows. I don't know much about the deal; but that seems like a lot of content with a major animation studio! Are you worried about the debt levels though? I noticed debt moved from 'Low' to 'High' from the last 2 reports, yet their content library keeps growing. Just wondering if you like what's been happening lately.

Thanks again!

Q: Seems to me the media landscape has changed since your last report in April. I have owned the shares for a considerable time and have enjoyed a very nice return, the last year or so the shine seems to have come off. Would your current rating remain "B" ? I'm wondering if my capitol could be deployed elsewhere or just hold on to my 4% position?
