Q: This week Smoak Capital had a write up on Leons in their Mid Year letter to investors. They figure that a combined value for Leon's for the business and the real estate is 40-60$ per share. Couple of questions what is your thoughts of the valuation of the stock right now ignoring the possible spin out of the real estate. The second question is Leons stated that they would spin out the real estate when the market looks better. I know that we have had a few days sell off but with interest rates dropping do you think things are lining up for real estate spin out. Thanks

Q: Hi Peter…Today’s headline “Strategic Investors Exercise Warrants Early”. The stock is up slightly today in a down market likely due to encouraging drill results and today’s posting the news about the investors exercising the warrants. Do you know if Eric Sprott has been exercising his warrants (assuming he is a strategic investor and has warrants)! Do these warrants trade? A couple of days ago a press release stated that for one hole the visible gold in the core was becoming “coarser”, suggesting the hole is close to penetrating the centre of the ore body. I assume “coarser” means the gold crystals are becoming larger. Do you know if that is logical or just wishful thinking? I own slightly more than 2,000 shares and am thinking about buying some more. I generally don’t purchase warrants but might reconsider.
The news suggests veins at depth so production costs will be substantial - if it ever reaches that stage.

Q: Good afternoon 5i
A number of people have asked about the best small cap etf. You have sometimes mentioned ijt as a good one. But, lately you have been recommending ijr. In the answers 5i always mentions whether or not someone on staff holds the given stock or etf. I was curious as to wht you would say that ijr is your preferred but not own it and own ijt, though
Thanks

Q: I have recently become aware of the potentially valuable AI aspect of the otherwise uninteresting (to me) bitcoin mining business. Which firms are best situated to profit from AI?
Best regards

Q: Hello 5i Team,

Long-time holder of CBZ, which has been a consistent performer.

The share price has dropped significantly today after an earnings miss and a coincident announcement to acquire Marcum. Not sure which event is contributing more to the share price reduction... or if it's both.

Could you please comment on the current situation and future prospects for CBZ. Is this an opportunity to add to my position? Or do you expect the share price to languish for a while? If so, how long?

Thanks in advance for your always helpful advice!

Q: Hi,

Thank you for answering my question on small caps on the 29th of July.
Thank you also for adding HPS.A ahead of PAY. Your list in the order that suggested is as follows:
GSY, PRL, LMN, HPS.A, PAY, TOI.

To Theodore's question today (31-07-2024) you relegated TOI down the list and pointed out to it's European exposure.

With that in mind, may I ask you to consider some of your favorite metrics, FUTURE GROWTH, Momentum and DEBT Load and then give us the names in the small caps sector. If you used the above metrics, will your list change?

My iTrade platform seems to indicate that PRL has a lower debt load than GSY. Yet your rank ordered GSY ahead of PRL. I know you must have a good reason. Just wanted to know the rationale.

Many thanks in advance.
