Q: Thinking about taking a position in one of the following companies, given studios can now own movie theatres after Paramount Consent Decrees of 1948 have been removed. I have a 3-5 year horizon and think people will eventually come out of hiding ; ) Also, if there is another company (entertainment) that has been recently beaten-up that you prefer, please let me know.
Q: Can you comment on earnings just announced by both companies. How do you think they will influence prices going forward.

Q: Hi Team,
Not many questions have been posted on FOOD. You said you were impressed with the last quarter. What more are you looking for on this one in order to consider it for something like the growth portfolio?
Is the generally low margin for food companies a deal breaker for this company?
Thanks!

Q: Good day!
I have in the past bought an interlisted Canadian stock on a major US exchange within my TFSA. I've done this when I've seen an opportunity but don't have enough cash in my CAD account. I don't want to exchange USD to CAD as I'm trying to grow my USD account.
I've been looking into Quarterhill, but notice that it trades on the OTCQX in the U.S. The only immediately noticeable difference is that the volumes are much lower. I understand that as far as OTC exchanges go, OCTQX has higher standards.
Are there any other risks I should be aware of? Appreciate your insights, as always.
Marc.

Q: Wondering if you are doing any assessment on DND for maybe a portfolio position or further recommendation? An analyst started coverage with an $18. In doing some research on them they noted: The Company intends to pay an annual dividend on its Shares, initially at a rate of $0.075 per share. While this is subject to board approval and nothing is guaranteed would you view this as a strong signal of the company growth plans if one has a 5+ year time horizon?
Q: Have been following this stock for awhile and noticed that they issued a lot of shares at $6.50 shortly after the short attack. Their shares have since drifted down to $5.21 well under the offering price? Why would anyone buy at the offering price? I know warrants are attached to the offering. Expiry is August 27 th.
Can you help me understand this process. I dont get the logic of it?? Is short selling having some bearing on stocks performance?
I would have thought that under normal circumstances that the shares would have held at or around $6.50?
Please enlighten me
Thanks John

Q: I read your last comment on QST’s qtr. Despite the large loss, cash did not fall at all. Was this simply due to asset write offs (non cash)? Also do you know how much the company benefited from the US PPP or Canada’s wags subsidy? I’m just try to find out how the company was able to burn through effectively no cash through an aweful qtr and just wondering if it is sustainable or reasonable to assume that going forward? Thanks
Q: What do you think of wef’s earnings release?
