Q: BPF.UN I been a customer and shareholder for years. My returns have been excellent and the food is good. Recently I paid $28.00 for a four topping pizza at lunch. A menu change including prices had occurred that I didn't notice.
I mentioned the cost to the waitress and the response was " we are getting lots of comments". I'll be watching the next quarter closely.

Q: Hello,
In my TFSA account, I was thinking of buying higher yielding securities and trading them within their range eg BA or CPG. However, you do not encourage active trading and prefer longer term growth strategy in a TFSA; Would you please suggest 3 or 4 lower beta names?
Thanks,
Tony

Q: James Hodgins on Marketcall today said that he is short CSU
Constellation, and HCG Home Capital. That might explain some
of the drop in price.

Q: Peter and Team,
Is it weird that, after the downgrade on CSU by RBC, RBC seems to be on the buy side of many of the transactions on CSU? I guess it would be easy for a big outfit like RBC to talk down a quality company like CSU in order to add to a position at a lower cost.
I know this sounds like conspiracy theories but, anecdotally, I noticed RBC being on the buy side of many transactions since the downgrade.
Thanks!

Q: Peter & staff: Syz recently went up big and coming back down. Was the news or market indifferent.Where do you see it going in the next year.
Q: In considering a purchase of ESL, would the low trading volume be much of a concern?
I've also been looking at CHE.UN, and found that the distribution hasn't changed in at least 7 years. Would you anticipate any increases going forward?

Q: This am win annouced a settlement with ho hi precision. No disclosure on financial. I am under on this one from its hi. Is it time to sell. You still have a high rating. Frustrated
Q: You gave a great answer on why winpak declared a one dollar special rather than raising the dividend, my question is why you would want to have a company like that in your model portfolio, it seems like they are just self serving. Dave
Q: AHF I have owned this company for a while, bought at around $1.40 and watched it drop to almost $1.00.
Should I continue to hold it and expect that it will regain it's former price or should I sell, absorb the loss and move on.

Q: I have held a position in Winpak (WPK) for over a year and have done very well with it. I intend to continue holding, but am a bit perplexed by their recent announcement of a special $1 per share dividend. The announcement came without any explanation. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth and think it’s great when companies give back to shareholders. My understanding however is that special dividends typically occur after an asset sale, or in response to shareholder pressure when a company is flush with cash. Winpak’s current regular dividend of only 12 cents amounts to less than 0.5% yield. The $1 special dividend could have been used to finance doubling the current regular dividend for the next 8 years! Can you explain what management is doing here with the special dividend?
Thanks
Thanks
