Q: Bad, Badger,
(Bad is Good!!) I have had 5 fold profit on this, sold some along the way, regretfully, but it is again about 7.5% of my unregistered portfolio. I am not adverse to risk, and I believe one has to let its winners run.But after such a good run Would it be wise to trim it to 5% for disciplined portfolio management, despite the tax bill. Having cash to redeploy also could be a could idea. It is easier to buy than to sell, and I need the kick to make me do it. Thanks for you input.

Q: In your analysis of C-COM (CMI)you mention that 17% of revenue is sourced in the Russian Federation. With the issues in the Ukraine I am wondering how you weigh that in your investment decision. The company looks very interesting as an investment and the share price looks reasonable especially with all that cash to deploy. But how does one allow for the geo-politics in an investment decision?
Thanks
Mike
Thanks
Mike
Q: Please comment on CMI's Q1.

Q: SYZ - significant insider selling by CEO and others just before and after recent secondary issue. Cause for concern?
Q: Hello 5i - As always thank you for your help.
I would like to add to my pipeline holdings.
Which pipeline do you see as having the biggest growth potential in the next 5 years.
Craig

Q: Just some general comments on AYA that some members might find useful from one who has been investing for 25+ years:
1) If you have followed the model portfolio, AYA should represent a max of 5% of your holdings
2) Not every stock in the portfolio is going to go straight up from the outset
3) It is very difficult to anticipate and "play" market sentiment swings, which is clearly affecting AYA presently. Stay focused on what the company is actually doing.
4) Don't check your stocks every hour. Better to evealuate monthly or quarterly, along with company information released.
5) We are all here because we believe in Mr Hodson's insight. Follow his portfolio, stay with his suggestions, and I believe you will have an excellent chance to outperform the market. That is all anyone could realistically ask for.
Good luck fellow investors!

Q: AHF has management and financial ties with argent(AET.UN). Could this affiliation impact its reputation and status in the market?
Q: re; Amaya, just a comment that I think is important, I was a huge shareholder but exited at 7.40 when I saw sheldon adelson owner of the venetian in las vegas and a person worth 40 billion, is backing a bill in the united states to ban internet gambling, I think this bill has legs and would affect Amaya quite negatively if passed, add in their horrible earnings and I think the stock is an avoid for now. dave
Q: Hi, I am a new member since December. I bought avo and its down 15%. Suggestions?
Dan
Dan
Q: Could you give your latest opinion on avo (avigilon) it's down again today and seems to have broken down and heading to the $20.00 dollar range.
Q: I am down over 24% on a $6K investment in AYA. Would it be prudent to sell at this point to protect the remaining capital and buy back when the down trend reverses. Should I have done that when the stock was down 10%? I hope to learn from this how to deal with a falling stock price rather than just do nothing and hope. Thank you.
Q: OMG, I am embarrassed. I misspoke myself when I said "resistance". I meant "support" and realized my error after I pressed the Submit button. There are several things that can be said about AYO from a technical analysis perspective but I won't since this is a fundamentalist's website, except to say that I won't be a buyer until it bottoms out and starts to climb again. And it will, in the fullness of time.
Q: CUS Canexus The value investor in me is feeling tempted by Canexus. It seems that a low has been established for the stock. The biggest danger for breaking that low would (presumably) be a cut in the dividend. Given that the main business is well understood by the market the speculation would be in NATO upside. Lately the Canadian energy sector has been on fire. Everything is up! It seems shipping by rail has been of benefit. Could you put this picture in a CUS frame for me? My idea is to take a 1/2 position in this price range and wait for good (or bad) news to make the next decision.
Q: re:AYA
Wiping my tears so I can type and, I am sure you are tired of hearing about this company.
My position is small ($1,000 & less than 1%) but I am a little tired of watching this precipitous fall.
On Saturday a 5i member commented
"there is a zone of resistance between about $5.75 to $6.13. It touched $6.11 in intra-day trading on March 31st but closed at $6.30. If prices close within, or more seriously, the resistance zone, watch out."
I'm close to jumping ship but would like to hear your thoughts on the aforementioned comment and maybe provide some explanation as to what exactly he is saying. If it gets to $5.75 it will drop to a dollar?
Thanks You Peter & Family

Q: Hi Guys,
This is a couple of questions about Amaya (AYA)
Why is your report so out of date (Sept 2012) for such a growing company?
Why does your opinion differ so much from the market on this company? It is down 25% from the beginning of the year. Obviously the market does not like this company. Is the growth really there? Please provide more than "it's a good company" answer.
Regards
John

Q: Peter and Team
I totally revamped this TFSA in January according to your group' sure commendations, but did hold back on what is now 7% cash, of the portfolio and am ready to invest that.. I currently hold 17% in REITS, 13% in BCE , 13 in ZWB, 11% in BAD, the remainder , evenly spread, in CDZ, XIU and XCS.
What would you recommend that would provide substantial growth prospects and would it make sense to add a Canadian company with good foreign exposure?
In other accounts I own SGY, SYZ, SLF,, AVO, and ESL.
Thanks for your consideration. I have been pleased with the January changes made to this TFSA.

Q: I am thinking of investing in Goldcorp. Are there any concerns due to the ongoing and well published battle over Osisko. i.e. negative impact to stock price if hostile to bid fails.
Thanks

Q: DH has performed poorly the last few weeks and I am considering selling our 5% posotion. Would you suggest a Canadian industrial with decent dividend and/or growth; CNR? GEI? or a good reit such as CWT.UN?
