Q: Hi, can I have your updated thoughts on the following pipelines: IPL, ENB or its income fund, and TRP. Which ones are of better value to you right now? And future Growth? Would you know the payout ratios for each and are they sustainable? Are LNG exports looking positive in your views and for these positive? Thanks!

Q: According to media reports Venezuela is on the verge of bankruptcy and the more the oil price falls the greater the odds. From the Scotia Global site:
"Scotiabank is proud to have a strong presence in Venezuela through ... Banco del Caribe"

How strong is their presence there and will default have long term effects on BNS shares? I note it is a 3.6% position in the BE portfolio which presumably went in at 5%. Thanks, J.

Q: I see that TD announced the opening of a Currency Exchange branch in BC. The same day, CXI's price dropped significantly. Is there a connection and what are the implications of TD's move for other banks and the future for CXI's business?

Q: I purchased GC in 2015 and am currently down 27%. It's rated B in your rankings. The stock price is down to at best sideways, it does not pay a dividend. Not a lot of positives to say.

!)Would you hold it given where it is and the outlook.
2)If not, what would you replace it with that won't be 'dead' money?

I currently own all 3 of your portfolios.

Thanks

Sheldon

Q: I sold half my XTC a few weeks ago based on comparing their PE and chart with MG and LNR. Both MG and LNR had much lower PE's and their charts were bad, so I thought XTC might fall in sympathy until their PE is more in-line with the others. Can you critique this thinking please. Also, would you buy some XTC back now or wait till the PE gets closer to MG and LNR?

Q: In my husbands Rrsp account we have been generally following the income portfolio with regards to equities. Since he doesn't have a pension, it is important that it generates a steady income while preserving capital although he would not be touching capital for a few years. We recently added Bns when the dividend went to 5.5%. Given Boston pizzas increased dividend announcement and its drop in price today, would you purchase it today for income knowing that the stock price will probably increase in the further when the markets stabilize or are there other stocks that are more compelling.
Thank you.

Q: Reading a little on Andrew Peller (ADW.a) and I notice their 6 month performance for 2016 exceedingly outperforms the 6 months performance in 2015 (99 cents eps vs 65 cents eps). Is this outperformance a result of a one time item?

I ask because if their back half of 2016 can approach their first 6 month numbers, the stock looks very attractive, in my opinion, especially if they can take their 2016 earnings and continue to grow from there.

Thanks.

John
