Q: Hope everyone at 5i is well. Would you be a buyer of XID today, or is too early, given the Covid-19 situation in India? Thanks in advance.

Investment Q&A
Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.
Q: Last year I took a sizeable position in VEE as one of the main parts of my foreign diversification. It has, like so much else, dropped a lot. I am wondering if the prospects for recovery in the emerging markets are not as favourable as the potential in the US or Canada, where economic resources (or the ability to backstop printed money) are stronger. As such, I am inclined to sell this position (and as you point out, harvest a tax loss) and migrate to some North America holding(s). Your comments, pls. Thanks for your excellent service.

Q: I understand that a covered call investment is not the holding to have during a market rebound.
Instead of ZWE, which ETF would be appropriate holding to capitalize on a rebound.

Q: I have the advertising company WPP in my portfolio. Their debt seems to be over four times operating cash flow. Do you think they will survive the crisis? Is it time to offload the shares?
Q: Thoughts on the above.

Q: With China showing signs of recovering (a number of stores have reopened) would now be a good time to buy some BABA? Are there better alternatives?

Q: Am looking into investing in ETFs that are exposed to China given things are returning to normal, new incidents of COVID-19 are down, Apple stores are reopening etc. Does this make sense? If so what ETFs would you look at?
Q: Good day,
This stock seems to be holding quite well in the .present debacle. What is your analyse of it ? Would you buy it now ? And could you explain me, in simple terms, what they do ?
By the way, your report of March 19 on special opportunities was nothing but "WOW" ! Most appreciated !
Thank you for your outstanding service,

Q: Hello Peter and Team,
If the long term thesis is that after this latest crises, companies will diversify outside of China for manufacturing, countries like India should do well. What other countries would do well for long term in your opinion due to this and how would you invest in this thesis? How would you invest in India?
Thanks,
Wes

Q: Do you have recommendations on how to possible play the OPEC announcement regarding not cutting production? Is it good for Saudi companies since their per barrel production costs are quite a bit lower than the western world's? Do you see something like KSA being a good buy (its off quite a bit from only 1 year ago)? It seems between OPEC and the Canadian governments apparent intent on crippling the Canadian energy industry, that there's likely no point in buying Canadian energy companies for a while. I do still own ENB for some degree of north American exposure.

Q: My current portfolio is somewhat similar to your BE portfolio but with a small (15%) portion of foreign holdings (more if you consider BEP which I also hold, as foreign since it has a lot of foreign investments). Foreign is far too small in my estimation. I have some cash to deploy which would bring it up to about 30%.
I currently hold VEE, DXG and DXU, an awful lot of US. Do you have any suggestions of ETFs I could or should add? I have held ZDM in the past.

Q: I am buying European exposure via one of 2 ETF's, either XEH or XEU. As a CDN resident, how might the Cdn Hedged ETF ( XEH) help or hinder my future ROR ?

Q: I'm going to retire next year and have recently received a inheritance. I have this money in a non registered account. PA is telling me that I need more US and international exposure. I'm looking at ETF's with dividends but being non Canadian holding I will not get the tax credit. Should I still look at dividend ETF's and not worry about the tax? I have a low to median risk for these non Canadian ETF's. I have a diversified group of large cap Canadian stocks to take advantage of the dividend tax credit. Can you give me some names to look at buying?
Thanks Greg

Q: Obviously you would not be very familiar with this company. I'm interested in your opinion on their prospects given the space they operate in. Trades in London.
