Q: Greetings Team:
I stumbled into 10 shares of ELF last year on a recommendation of Moneysense magazine. It has done well and is now halted on an offering of $75 per share special dividend. What do you think of the company and what might happen such that you would consider selling.
I am another investor who thanks you for your excellent advise.

Q: No question, just a comment. Thank-you so much for providing this service. This Q & A forum has taught me so much as an individual investor. When I began with your service I knew very little about stocks and was buying on tips of those that looked to be better off than I. This forum has taught me how to push aside the hype and truly evaluate the potential of a stock, and as proof, I have begun building a consistently positive return portfolio. Thank-you and all the forum participants for sharing your valuable wisdom on a daily basis - Cheers.
Q: Hi _ any comments on the EH release? Earnings are up big time and the growth plans are ambitious. What do you calculate their ROE to be at this time? Thanks

Q: I submitted a question regarding portfolio management a few days ago and my thought is that you may not have received it. My question had to do with the number of positions one should hold as the size of your investment portfolio grows. That is, would 20 holdings be appropriate for any sized investment portfolio or is there a point where additional holdings should be considered. Thanks for your help.
Q: In 2012, South American Silver (SAC) had its mining license revoked by the Bolivian government, sending it, this past July, to a four-year low. Since then, however, the stock has done very well; is this just speculation on the chance of favourable arbitration, or increasing recognition of the value of its other mining properties?
Q: Hi, What are your thoughts on SNC? I'm up 10% on it in my RRSP. There seems to be support at $40. Is it worth selling and waiting for a pull back? It represents about 3% of my portfolio although it is not a core holding. 75% of my RRSP is in your model portfolio. I also currently have a 3% Shawcore position. Thanks
Q: AYR NYSE-leases planes-high ROE, good dividend with low payout ratio, low PE; but, high debt-last several months started to go up-still way below highs before market meltdown. Issued shares recently-private placement. Is this a good investment for the USD portion of my portfolio??
Q: Just a follow up on an earlier question about BNP, Bonavista. I added to my position a month ago thinking the seasonal trend would show improvement in the price into the new year and then I could reconsider my longer term ownership (I am underwater). The price of Gas hasn't appreciate but it could still be early from a seasonal standpoint. The sell off in BNP could be a combination of stagnant gas prices and tax loss selling. I'm keeping with my thesis for the time being and hopefully cold weather and the end of tax loss selling will see a bump in the stock price in early Jan.
Your thoughts on my thoughts?
What's your opinion on Gas prices over the next 2-3 years?

Q: Can I have an opinion on IMRIS (IM)? At 1.50 is this worth looking at. THANKS.
Q: Peter & team, where can I historical prices & dividend payout on PGF since 2007 april. Is this possible? Thank you, your service is starting to turn around our investments nicely for my rrsp and my wife also.
Q: Considering that one need not invest in all sectors to have a balanced portfolio, would you recommend to have gold or gold stocks in the portfolio at this time? I have a 3% of my portfolio in this sector through AEM, BTO and SLW for a pure play on the metals.
From a risk reward perspective should i stay in the sector and if so, make adjustments like switch to Goldcorp or move out of stocks into gold such as CEF? The seasonality for gold is coming to an end and the outlook for gold/silver prices are all over the map.
Would appreciate your opinion.

Q: Hi 5I, could you correct the symbol on Francois' question on Linamar this morning, should be LNR. Also I own DGC and ASR, down on both and would like to consolidate to one stock, which would you choose or should I dump both for CEF.A? Thank you
Q: Hi Peter and team. I have another porfolio management question.
We are having trouble allocating equity and ETF's between the regular portfolio we manage on our own and the TFSA. After 5 yrs the TFSA holdings are about half and we've noticed ofcourse that you can not claim losses. This should be obvious but is it better to put the ETF's in the TFSA and stocks outside? Trying to create a sleep at night portfolio has been a challenge.
Thanks for any input. Jan

Q: Good day!
I am looking at ENF (Enbridge Income Fund) and/or AQN (Algonquin Power and Utilities)for a position or a split position (both?) I prefer ENF for the higher div and seemingly similar growth paths (or maybe a bit better?), but I do own PPL (a full position) and see the overlap with Enbridge for pipelines. Would appreciate advice as to which I should choose for (primarily)income, and also some downside dividend protection against market correction and also - for the complete wish list - a chance for reasonable growth.
If you wish, I would appreciate any alternative choice(s) in a reasonable dividend-paying utility.
Thanks!
