Q: I bought TFI in March, and since then it has traded in a very narrow range, with a slightly negative tilt. I was considering CSS as an alternative given your recent positive report, but I wanted to wait until TFI's reporting today. In my opinion the report was impressive, both as to the company's strategy, and execution. I was therefore surprised to see the initial trades this morning were lower than they had been in the last 9 months, although TFI did end up slightly higher on the day. From the perpspectives of both company performance, and stock performance,is there a reason to favour one over the other between TFI and CSS?

Q: Just a comment. I had previously written in about eldest grand-daughter and stock picking. I am very pleased to say that she completely disregarded my well thought out reasoning and went with her own picks, and was able on the phone to expound upon why she believed that they were good at this time.
She picked out Estee Lauder, and understood the layering to different budgets in the company
HKG0027, a Macau gambling stock(she has been to Macau). She thought it quite likely it would do well regardless of the economy either here or in China. Finally she picked out
Tim Horton, which in her small town is the destination of choice for a treat.
Just wanted to mention how it all turned out.
Thanks and read your website every day

Q: Could I get your opinion on Pan Orient Energy POE.
Q: Peter, what is your choice between ATP and CPX? and why. Thanks
Q: Yesterday on BNN - the stock TPX was a top pick. After reporting last night, it has dropped significantly - assuming weak sales. But it does seem that if the US housing market picks up - stocks likes this could also do well. Do you agree?
Q: With the housing market improving in the US - what growth stocks would you recommend?
Q: Hello Peter, What are your thoughts on Premium Income Corp. (PIC.A)? Are the dividends sustainable? Buy Sell or Hold? Thanks.
Q: I am considering buying BEP.UN or BAM.A for a long term hold in an RRSP account. I have read your report on BEP.UN (excellent information), but was wondering if you prefer it to BAM.A? Thanks for such a great site in such a short time!

Q: Hello Peter & team,
Just wondered if ROGERS SUGAR INC. (RSI: Toronto) would be a good buy at the moment. ( for div, div growth, & some stock growth).
If so, then a short wait to allow the market to settle, & for the stock to move positively through its 20 day moving average may be prudent ?
Thanks in anticipation.
Best wishes,
Paul.

Q: I have owned valiant since it was biovail so have an excellent return but am wondering if time to reduce or sell outright. They used to pay a dividend but not now. Q: CFX Canfor Pulp Products
Yesterday CFX announced that they were suspending their dividend ($0.05) for the quarter. It’s getting punished today. I see that you wrote last month that the market was probably uncertain about the new CEO, pulp prices and the global economic picture. CFX also noted in the last quarter some onetime costs, settling of the labour agreements and the plant outage. I note that in the past when CFX was an income trust, the distributions went from $1.44 in 2008 to $0.48 to $0.12. By 2010 the payout was raised to $3.00. Now in a further two years it has dropped to a $1.60 dividend when they converted to a corporation, then reduced to $1.00, then $0.88, then $0.20 and now ZERO. Based on this pattern, one would hope that within two years the dividend will be back to $1.60! I’ve held CFX for many years and would you agree that in the long run it might be a good bet to hold and expect some better quarters ahead? Or do you think that there’s a fundamental change in the company’s management and business?

Q: Can you shed any light on this latest drop in Absolute Software's (ABT) share price? In May you suggested they were misunderstood and had a confusing way of reporting revenue. Now they are reporting in US$. MD&A was upbeat too. I thought/hoped these factors would be noted and evaluations adjusted. I would appreciate your opinion, thank you.
Q: I am considering investing in ATP or AW.UN for high yield on this market pullback. Both companies have a B+ rating. Which business offers the best 5 yr investment? Thanks Larry
Q: Looking at ERF for grandson's RESP. It has >6% yield and a PEG < 1. What do you think for a long term hold?
Q: UBS puts forward Suncor as a 'key call' in Canada (apparently there are only 5 so-called key calls in Canada). Is this sound ?
Any reason to prefer Suncor over CNQ or COS. The large caps all seem to go in the same direction, either higher or lower.
