Q: Hello Peter, I hold EnCana, Cenovus, Canadian Natural, Baytex, Surge and Tourmaline. As I'm resigning myself to low oil prices continuing for at least a few years, I'd like to eliminate two or three of my positions.
Some of these stocks have obviously done much worse than the others. But on a 'looking forward' basis only, can you please list the stocks that you'd suggest I eliminate, in order?

Q: In the last Canadian MoneySaver Peter Lantos wrote an article on the benefits of investing in mortgages and points out that "big money" is heavily invested in real estate. Would REITs mimic the real estate and how does one invest in mortgages? Do companies such as FC qualify as mortgage investments? Thanks

Q: There was a trading halt on AG Growth International late Wednesday afternoon due to "pending news" which was lifted at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before the opening bell. I have searched the company website and can't find any reason for such a halt. Do you guys have any idea what's going on? Thanks!

Q: I hold a small position in Gruma SAB de C.V.(GMK:US), the Mexican food supplier. It appears trading has been halted and I can't get any information from Yahoo or Bloomberg or any of my usual sources. Do you have any idea what is happening?

Q: I have 425 shares of GH and underwater about 11.5% Not a huge loss and I am happy to keep holding since its only a 1.94 % weighting in my portfolio. My comments or questions is in relations to the following announcement.

Great Canadian gaming has been awarded the first phase or bundle of casinos or slots from OLG. From my understanding there is more to come. Do you think Gamehost would try to move in Ontario with some assets OLG is giving up? Also how do the deal fair for Great Canadian Gaming? Is it safe to assume they get the rest of OLG's assets or does another company come in? Looks like a positive in my opinion long term for GC. Your thoughts please. Thanks Jimmy

Q: Hello Peter & Co,
My exposure to the US Housing market is through Tricon Capital (TCN) and Interfor (IFP) and I'm up on both; however, the latter one is lagging significantly lately and I wonder if I should sell and move on to another Canadian company participating in this sector.
Could you name a couple? What do you think of Hardwoods Distribution (HWD)?

Q: HI Peter,
Apologies. This relates to your answer to my previous question. If Bombardier decides to IPO part of the rail business, is it worth buying BBD now to potentially get some shares in the Bombardier rail IPO or is it possible that existing BBD shares holders may not get any shares from the IPO? Q: I own some Suncor (about 1% of my total investment portfolio). I also have ENB, TRP, and WCP in the sector at about the same level. After reading the SU CEO's comments of yesterday about putting some of the company's pile of cash into play, either by giving some back to the shareholders, or making acquisitions, I am thinking that now might be a good time to double my holding in SU. What do you think?

Which would you sell
Because he is overweight BNS , I thought we should sell 1/3 for a loss ... but perhaps that isn't a good strategy .
BNS (big loss) , OTC (loss) , XSP (loss) , GWO (gain) , L (big gain ) , ATD.B ( huge gain ),
Are RESP losses non claimable ???
