Q: I sold my Barrick yesterday after owning it for almost 20 years. Not because I thought the price would drop, but because I just couldn't stand the pain (and mismanagement) any longer! I'd like to replace it with another gold stock (just for diversification). I know you like Goldcorp but I find AEM interesting and like the idea of it seemingly having much lower geo risk than G given the locations of its mines. Does your preference for G already factor in such risks? Or do you think the risks are overblown? Your comments appreciated!

Q: Please provide your assessment of DELAVACO RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES (DVO-U.V). Delavaco specializes in the acquisition and subsequent renovation and leasing of distressed single-family homes in the United States
This stock has dropped about 50 % since Sept 2014 and now appears to be trading well below book value.
It this stock a reasonable way to get exposure to the recovering housing market in the US?
Thanks
Dave

Q: Hi team:
I have hold the above for awhile, all of a sudden, in the last 2 weeks, it went up
is there a fundamental reason for that ? time to add more or hold
is the dividend safe ? thanks

Q: Interpipeline (IPL) raised it's dividend substantially in November '14 and raised it a record 18 cents or about 13% yesterday while reporting record revenues. Analysts expected more but is it possible they expected too much? This company has delivered stellar results since March 2009 when I bought it at $8,40. Would you agree and still buy it today?
How does Northland Power (NPI)look for dividend safety and possibly some capital gains?
Thank you.

Q: I understand you tube will be coming out with it s very own kids channel. Could this be a bad sign for dhx investors?
Q: In reference to Sheldon's question (Feb 20th) regarding the recent rise in BDI's share price. It is no doubt partially due to the tax incentives announced by Stephen Harper recently....
"The federal government is hoping to kickstart a multibillion-dollar industry that, according to one analyst, is currently suffering an anxiety attack. Speaking in B.C., Prime Minister Stephen Harper unveiled new tax breaks for investment in liquefied natural gas.
The new measures mean companies will now get a capital cost allowance of 30 per cent for LNG equipment. And 10 per cent for buildings at LNG facilities. The government projects the tax break will save the industry about $50 million over the first five years.
Another estimate says it will allow companies to write off 90 per cent of their investments in seven years, instead of 27."

Q: Any thoughts on SNC Lavalin. Looks cheap after this sell off, but of course big question is the long term impact of these fraud and bribery charges. Good long term buy here or not worth the risk?
Q: Hello Peter
I'd like to invest in Horizons Betapro S&P 500 Bull plus ETF which is trading on TSX .My question to you is: is this ETF hinged or unhinged and what is advantage and disadvantage on hinged and unhinged ETFs and because the fund is exposed to U.S equity indices will it fall under the US $100,000 reporting rules (Form 1135).
Regards Andrew B.

Q: Hi Peter I think you "like" the stock and it seems to have a nice p/e ,decent dividend to allow for growth...you have also mentioned possible large real estate value not fully recognized on books I think. Time to add a small position in a new non-financial/energy/utility company and I am thinking of this one. Without regard to industry as it will be a small holding do you like it better than GH,RPI.UN, CSW.A and WB and if not which one is your favourite of the group and why over ADW.A
Thanks for all you do

Q: I've been in and out on PLI a couple of times. It has been a volatile stock. It has hit new highs lately. I'd like to get back in but I feel it has received a lot of attention now and it might be overpriced at this time. I want back in but feel the price will drop and if I wait it out I'll get a better price. What are your thoughts ?
Q: My debentures with CHE.UN mature in March 2017 should I hold till then and if yes
do I cash out or stay with them, I like the dividend. Suppose it would depend on the deal at that time.
What are my options?
