Q: Do you like surge energy(sgy), or whitecap res.(wcp)for growth and a safer dividend, thanks?
Q: element financial symbol
Q: VRX is up quite a bit today on its 2014 guidance I suppose. What is the significance of quoting a "CASH EPS" number and not a regular EPS number and how does one evaluate a co. that has a CASH EPS but negative regular (GAAP) EPS? Also would you buy it at this price?
Thankyou.
Thankyou.
Q: Hi Peter,
What is your opinion on nfi.to

Q: Hi Peter and 5i Team,I know that you like companies that start a dividend policy. AXX (Axia Net Media) is starting a dividend at the end of January. Can you please give me your additional comments wrt AXX

Q: Axia was expected to initiate a special dividend due to the excess cash on the balance sheet associated with the sale of some non-core assets, instead the company has initiated a "small" quarterly dividend and they have renewed their share buy back in December. You've previously said you view the initiation of a dividend as very positive. I believe they are trying to signal their long term intentions to the market and based on their cash position and their projected income levels they have ample room to grow the dividend over time. What are you thoughts about this move by Axia? Do you think this is the right move as opposed to initiating a special dividend? Are they being too conservative with returning capital?
Thanks,
Rob

Q: Happy New Year to all at 5I. I have been watching DHX for a good buying opportunity (it is down 3.6% today). Would this be it, or is it a reason to wait and see what may be behind the drop?
Q: Regarding MCR: What's managements explanation of the growth in Trade Receivables and Deferred revenue since 2011? Looks like a great growth story, but some earnings have been invested in higher current asset balances. Is it due to changes in customer base /contract terms?
Q: Would appreciate your outlook for Russel Metals (RUS)
Thanks - Ken

Q: How do you see Element Financial's (EFN) sensitivity to rising interest rates over the next two to three years? Material impact or minor issue? Thanks and Happy New Year!
Q: Peter and Team,
I'd like to wish you all a happy new year, first off. Second, I have owned Tourmaline for a while and had been writing covered calls on the name. I went a number of months without getting called away but finally did in December. It was almost a 5% weighting for me. I also currently own PPY (currently 3.0% of the portfolio) and PEY (Currently 3.7% of the portfolio) in the Natural Gas Sector.
My question is, with the proceeds from TOU should I be trying to get back into TOU? Are there better or other names that I should look at in the sector? Should I put the cash made into one of the names I already have?
Thanks for your thoughts!

Q: Hi Peter and best of the season.
PSD was haulted and then came back with a 10% lift. Any news there? I remember when you were regularly on BNN Market Call and often a Top Pick would get a similar bounce (you and Joseph Schachter seemed to be only ones who could do that). Jason Donville had this one as a TP on the 24th. Could this have been a Donville bounce? Thanks.

Q: I'm looking to add a pharmaceutical to my portfolio. Can you give me your take on VRX vs PTI?
Thankyou and Happy New Year to all.

Do you believe that ATS Automation's business model will be threatened by the 3D printer industry. Thanks

Q: Christmas Greeting, Peter Co.
I am considering a purchase of Mandalay Resources (MND) shares for small cap precious metals exposure. Is the announced purchase of Challacollo from Silver Standard a material event to consider? Do you see MND as a survivor in this harsh precious metals climate? Is there a small cap, dividend paying PM stock that you would prefer?
Thanks,
Ed

Q: I have had ANDREW PELLER (ADW.A) for a while. Could you kindly share your opinion on this one? Thx.
Q: In regards to LGT.B Martin Mittelstaedt covered (recommended)the company on May 29, 2012 edition of the Globe & Mail. He stated the company has not had a profitless year since going public in 1969. Mr Mittelstaedt recommended the stock @ $19.51 so he made a good call.
He stated that the president, Ms Paquin, was appointed the new acting chair of CP. Is there any concern with Ms. Paquin being "spread too thin" with her chairmanship of CP? Will her relationship with CP drive new business to LGT.B?
I am thinking of selling BMO to buy LGT.B. It would increase my transportation weighting to about 9%. (3% ALC, 3% HNZ.A and 3% LGT.B). Does this make sense - I am overweight in financials.

Q: Could you provide your current views on Medical Facilities Corp (DR)
Q: Peter
I own DHX and have owned it since $2.62.Now it is overweight in my portfolio.Traditional thinking is that I should be selling some and rebalancing. What is wrong with putting a stop loss(lets say 15%) behind the stock and let it run!I spend a lot of time trying to find such an investment and I submit I took more risk at $2.62 cents than I am today.
