Q: Peter and Team:
I currently hold SYZ and OTC (each about 3%) in a sector balanced growth portfolio. What are your thoughts about adding or switching with GIB.A. Is it fair to say these represent small, mid and large cap companies in this sector, and how would you rate the three for a 5 year plus hold? Do "valuations" really have much meaning in comparisons like this?
I'm considering adding to either CSU or ESL which are current holdings or purchasing GIB.A as a new holding. All things being equal in terms of portfolio allocation, which would you recommend, or is there another name you see as a better purchase in the technology space at this time.
Q: PETER,ISEE WI-LAN REPORTS APR29. IHAVE A GENEROUS AMOUNT OF SHARES AT HIGHER PRICES. I ENJOY THE DIVIDEND.WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON AVERAGING DOWN PRIOR TO ANY RELEASE? MANY THANKS JOHN
Q: Could you please give me an updated view of this company which seems to have posted very strong earnings? I'm looking for a solid growth stock in the utilities/telecom areas.
Q: I own SIO and SEV. I have owned SIGM in the past. All of these companies in my view are trying to cash in on the "next big thing". Are any of these companies real winners in this space or are there other companies that are worth buying.
CDV looks like a quality small cap in an industry with a high barrier to entry. But top line growth has been flat as a pancake for the past seven years. What corporate developments lead you to think that revenue and earnings will accelerate materially at this point in the companies history?
Q: Hi Team - could you provide a general comment/opinion on the company and what you think of its recent NR with respect to the Google partnership? Thanks
Q: I have practically no tech exposure. My former money "manager" got rid of it all! :(
Would I now be best to buy ZQQ or a combination of OTC,GIB.A, and CCL or WPK?
Q: I've been watching this stock since last yr when it was $39.00 and was reluctant to buy because I am retired and usually buy only stocks that pay a div. & have a history of incr. same. I am sitting on a lot of cash & since I hold all the blue chip financials and a few oil stocks perhaps I should bite the bullet and buy CGI? Is it too expensive now? I have a separate USD portfolio and would not put more money in there as our $ is too low right now.
Q: Hello -- Am looking for a technology equity that has good growth over the past 1-3 years and is projected to continue on that path, with an associated dividend. Between the two mentioned, which would be the best choice for my TFSA. Also, it you think these are not worth considering, what would your recommendation within their current value? Thank you for your excellent coverage and support. Much appreciated. Jim Alsop
I currently own Enghouse and would like to now if there is a similar company in the growth portfolio? Thinking of adding Open text(OTC) to my mix, but not if they both are too similar.
Or would maybe descartes(DSG) be a better option or something else?
ps..I don't mind riskier stocks because I am well balanced.
Q: Spectra has gained some momentum of recent with new products and "design ins". with the warrants out of the way and stronger capital position what do you think about SEV at this level?
Q: While forecasts of future revenue, hardware sales and software success remain soft, has the time come to put some faith in the CEO who has mostly delivered or overdelivered progress thru 4 or 5 quarters now, has got costs under control and distribution deals with major partners in place and says he is looking for acquisitions? FFH recently purchased indirectly another 45,000 shares which they would hardly do if they doubted his most recent forecast. Is it a buy to hold for at least 2 years?
I own Photon and I can't find any brokerages that cover them. Do you if there are any? And Photon just released 4th quarter and full year earnings and I'm wondering what the expectations were. Finally, if you could give me your thoughts on their earnings release, I would really appreciate it.
