Q: Hello Team,

Could you please provide your thoughts on Arsenal Energy, debt level and outlook over the next couple of years?
Would you also comment on GTE and CNE? Should I swap them for small cap natural gas stocks? if yes, can you suggest two or three companies. I am looking for growth and am reasonably comfortable with risk/volatility. Thanks for the great service

Q: Re SGY - I've heard it said Surge is similar to an early stage Crescent Point story as they are intending to acquire and build out substantial resources. Do you agree with this and if so, do you have any timeline guesstimates that might indicate how long would be an appropriate hold period, in order to let them work their plan and potentially see much higher share price? Q: Surge Energy has been VERY strong over the last week while the rest of the oil stocks have been relatively weak. Any rumours and news that might be causing this?

Q: I was thinking of selling my cpg and putting the proceeds in half dee and the other half pou, I'm looking for more growth rather than dividend, what do you think.

Q: re: TOU + doubling down/repurchase

I originally bought a 2% weighting in TOU @ $50.65. My portfolio Oil & gas weighting as a whole is 20%.

July 8 I sold 50% of my TOU position at $55.72.

Since then the share price (as we all know) has returned to $51.20. I am seriously considering repurchasing my 50% at these prices.

Would you consider this wise or should I wait for a few weeks before executing this strategy?

Q: Could you please comment on the recent drop in PPY share value? I bought a small stake about 2 weeks ago and have seen the share price drop nearly 20% since then. Do you believe this is a result of profit taking, or is something else going on? Thanks.

I recently began acquiring HWO, and have a small position. I've read your answers and opinions of it, and find its multiple to be "enticing", when I see very little debt, ROE of 23.2, good free cash flow, etc. Can you advise what % of shares is held by insiders (this is very important to me) and what grade it would get, back of the napkin, if it weren't so small. What percentage of the production is oil, what it gas? A lot of conjecture there, I realize.

Q: Many of the questions asked by 5i members pertain to Canadian oil and gas companies. That being said, I'm increasingly hesitant to consider buying stocks in them even when you rank some of them very highly.

It appears that the US is fast approaching the point where it will be energy self-sufficient given its ever-increasing domestic oil and gas output. I may be missing something but I suspect that American buyers will soon be cutting back on their purchases of Canadian oil and gas products. Making matters worse for these same Canadian companies is the fact that the infrastructure in Canada is not yet in place for exporting their production abroad.

Based on my limited understanding of energy market dynamics, the near future for even the best Canadian oil and gas companies seems very bleak and, perhaps, now is not the time to buy their shares.

Is my reasonning correct or am I missing something?

I have TOU, SGY, QST as energy stocks, down on average 8% (on top of your portfolio which is up, thank you).
Should I buy more at these levels, add others (PNE, KEL,PEY, PPY, CQE) or hold for possible better entry points.

Any other suggestions energy or otherwise worth buying at current levels.
