Q: Why the almost 5% pop in ESL today. I hold a small position and I was quite pleased. Earnings report comes out on this Wednesday.
Q: of the value stocks with momentum---which is your favorite, I already own chorus and am doing fine with it, I assume you will say trimac but it is thinly traded---hard to get in and out, so the question is which is your favorite. thanks dave
Q: To add to our income portfolio we are looking at purchasing BEP.UN and have read your favourable comments and 2013 report. We look at Google Finance, Morningstar and the TMX site and are a little confused by the very different numbers for eps, P/E,etc. Google Finance has a P/E of 102.27 and an eps of .31. The quarterly dividend is .42. ie not a very good payout ratio? Morningstar publishes a P/E TTM of 17.5. What is P/E TTM? Are you still favourable toward owning Bep.un.as a long term hold for income? Many thanks, Len
Q: I have a position in MFC and thinking of making a switch to SLF for more growth and stability, what is your opinion? Thank you for your response.
Q: Hi,
I'm a buy and hold investor and am up 25% on HCG, a riskier investment than my normal TD, SLF, Manulife, TELUS type investments. HCG has dropped of late and is making me nervous. Is it time to get out? What are its long term, say five year, prospects?

Q: G announced today a decrease of 60,000 oz of gold in the coming months.Should I sell or hold my G stock.I intend to buy it back, if and when it dips. When is the seasonal low in gold price. Thanks
Q: TFI TransForce calling! TFI phoned me Friday after market close. I missed the call but they left a message asking me to give them a call. (AS if!) This call came the day TFI hit an all time high and CSS was stuck in the mud. Insulting. I am taking heart that this might be an omen that not all is going as planned for the buyout as I own CSS and not TFI.
Q: I have a 2% weight ofBDI I am down 17% at the moment . Should I buy more to make it a 5% weight or wait for the next quarter earning.
Thanks
Dolores

Q: WPK is one of the stocks in my portolio which I hold in part for its stability. It's not the kind of stock I expect to drop 5% on no news on an otherwise okay trading day. Is there some news?
Q: As I write this, AVO is up 4.75% today. With no announcements, one must check the charts and doing so, I see no reason to buy at this point. Prices are well below the downtrend line, is still below the 20 day MA (but is approaching it. Volumes are about even with the 100 day MA. Frankly, considering Avigilon's propensity for volatility, I will wait for it to muster significant volume to the upside before I'll consider a re-entry.
Q: I have a couple of preferred's(royal,Enbridge)with rate resets. These are part of my fixed income portfolio, but I am unsure about how they would be effected by a correction in the equity market. These are long term investments but I would like to be aware of how they might react.
Q: Peter and Team,
With Stantec's valuation today, is it still one of the better places to put money to work? I am thinking as a risk-adjusted good return company.
Thanks and good luck on the ride, Peter!

Q: Stantec's planned 2 for 1 stock split is, according to the news release, 'to be effected by way of a stock dividend'. Is this a different approach to stock splits that I've experienced with other companies? I don't recall a dividend aspect in those cases. How will this work? Any tax implications? Thanks.
Q: Hi 5i Research,
I have no exposure to the healthcare sector in my portfolio right now. Aside from Valeant and Catamaran, could you recommend a couple of stocks in Canada and a couple of stocks in the U.S. that look attractive from a valuation basis?
Thanks for your help,
Jason

Q: Hi, Could you please provide your comments on Sylogist's just announced 2.5 mln shares secondary offering @11. Based on recent acquisitions and future acquisition potential, does the stock still offer decent upside? Thanks
Q: Could you explain the Stantec STN 2 for 1 stock split in plain language please. I have read the news release.
Thank you
Thank you

Hello Peter....
Best withes on the ride!
I have owned a 1.4% position in Great-west Life [GWO] and a 1.7% position in Sun life [SLF] since December 2013. SLF is up 11% and GWO down 1% since I bought them. These are held primarily for income. I would appreciate your opinion on whether I should just do nothing and collect the dividends which are about the same for both companies [SLF 3.5% and GWO 3.8%] or whether I should sell the GWO with essentially no loss or gain and put the money into SLF, in the expectation of a little more growth. Is it worth the diversification to own both?
Many thanks...... Paul K
