Q: Your answer to Marilyn,Feb 20, regarding a CXI financial issue
raised more questions. Will the stock price pullback to 26 or 27 $ area? Is this not what usually happens when a company makes a "new issue" below current price? If this deal "allows larger investors to get in" as you suggest, could they possibly snap up the new issue price in some kind of dark pool; thus leaving out any possibility of a pullback that retail investors
could participate in? If the stock price for CXI does go down to $26 or 27, I think it would be a great buy opportunity - do you agree? Thankyou. I really enjoy the Q&A......Lionel

Q: In reference to Sheldon's question (Feb 20th) regarding the recent rise in BDI's share price. It is no doubt partially due to the tax incentives announced by Stephen Harper recently....

"The federal government is hoping to kickstart a multibillion-dollar industry that, according to one analyst, is currently suffering an anxiety attack. Speaking in B.C., Prime Minister Stephen Harper unveiled new tax breaks for investment in liquefied natural gas.

The new measures mean companies will now get a capital cost allowance of 30 per cent for LNG equipment. And 10 per cent for buildings at LNG facilities. The government projects the tax break will save the industry about $50 million over the first five years.

Another estimate says it will allow companies to write off 90 per cent of their investments in seven years, instead of 27."

Q: Hi Peter,

This name was recently on a list you gave me priortizing how to integrate the 5i port into my own.

However BDI is up approx 40% in 2 weeks. Has there been substantial news to legitimize this move?

Or should I wait for a pullback? Have not purchased (unfortunately) as yet.

Would appreciate your opinion of a buy strategy on this one.

Thanks

Q: CXI announced a new issue today at 26.75, with some interesting conditions I have not seen before. It is to be held for 4 months and then trade on a restricted basis for 12 months. Can you explain this?
Thanks so much,
Marilyn

Q: In your response to my previous question on SYZ you noted insider ownership has come down to 5% from the 11% in the October report. You gave a B for insider ownership. I am wondering what you would give it based on new %? Your qualitative rating was C+ based on high valuation (stock was at $11.31)would this rating change because of the new stock price?
Thanks
Mike

Q: I read your updated report on HCG and agree that this is a great company. However, the NIM, EPS growth and ROE have all been declining as the yield curve has become more flat and competition for mortgage business has increased. Do you see this as a short term issue or more or a longer term problem?

Thanks,
Hans

Q: Good Afternoon,
I will be making my annual RRSP contribution in the next week or so and based on your research and all the Q & A here I have narrowed it down to 2 stocks, CXI or DHX.b. I was leaning toward CXI but it has taken a huge run in the last week or so now not so sure. This is for the very long term, which one of the two do you feel has the most upside. Thank-you

Q: Hello

This is a follow question on a Q&A I read about Glentel.

Basically you suggest to the Gentel shareholder to 'TENDER' their shares as otherwise there may be some delay.

My Question may seem silly, but how do I go about Tendering shares, when shares are held through a broker? I emailed my broker and they where not informative on how to do that.

Thank you.

Original Q&A I saw is cut and paste below.

Question: I talked to I trade where are GLENTEL shares are held and was told that you can no longer choose the option of cash or shares in BCE. If you wanted to do so you had to say so three days before the shareholders meeting earlier in January. Most people would obviously choose the shares with BCE hitting new highs. Is it still possible to get shares in BCE? THANKS

5i Research Answer:
In most cases, if you have missed the deadline, then you will by default get the pro rata allocation that everyone else gets: i.e. some BCE shares and some cash. You do need to tender your shares, otherwise there may be some delay. You will then need to buy BCE shares with the cash received if you want to swap all of the value of GLN into BCE.

Q: Hello: My TFSA value is $64,274. This includes $5,638 in cash that I need to invest. My objective is growth. My holdings:

AYA $9,370 (14.6% of TFSA)

XTC $7,424 (11.5%)

DHX.B $9,530 (14.8%)

CSU $32,312 (50%)

Thanks to 5i these stocks have done very well. The TFSA is about 8% of my total investment portfolio. Can you comment on the health of this mix? What stock(s) do you recommend I add with the cash?

Q: 5i
I have a half position in GC but just cannot decide on whether to ad to this one or start buying into aya . Aya has been doing much better while GC has lost some ground .
Also I'm thinking of getting back into acq since it has had much better momentum of late and forward earnings look quite solid plus it's well down still from its high .
I would greatly appreciate your advice on these stocks .
Thanks
Bill C.

Q: In their Fiscal 2014 report, the management "expected meaningful growth in fiscal 2015" and held cash per share $1.65. Given the large portion of business that comes from Western Canada what would you expect in terms of growth for 2015? Also in your October report you noted insider selling. Does this selling affect your otherwise positive opinion of management? Has that selling subsided? Would you be comfortable buying a small position here?
Sorry for the multiple questions.
Many thanks
Mike
