Q: Hello Peter & Co,
In my TFSA account, I hold BAM.A, DH, DHX, ET, MSI and PLI; I have room for one more holding. Would KBL add some diversification (I do not hold any of these in my RRIF portfolio) or do you have a better suggestion?
Thanks,
Antoine

Q: What's happening with Magna? The stock has been in steady day-by-day decline for the past 2 weeks and lost 10%. I am surprised that the sale of interiors unit has such effect on the stock... US economy is booming and people are buying new cars, I'd expect MG to do well in such environment...? Is your rating/views of MG still unchanged since your report 2 months ago?

Q: Hello Peter & Team,

Have noticed both are off recently - MRE about 9% in a month & MG about 10% in the past couple of weeks.

Also noticed Auto sales have been reporting a little weaker than expected domestically but while internationally has been a little more promising.

Do you think this is the reason? or is there something else at work here driving these down? I got out of MG shortly after the split but still hold MRE at just under $10. Would you recommend I hold tight or take my profit - it's May so go away?

Thanks for all you do

Gord

Q: Why the drop in Ccl? Is this a buying opportunity?

Q: Hi team:
I am aware that this is no longer in the portfolio as recommended
I bought it in the low 30s
It has taken a small rise recently in the last month, is it related to the oil price ? is the dividend still safe ? It would take alot of courage to add more at this point as I have lost some capital, thanks

Q: It would seem that A&W had a great quarter. Would you still put it behind Boston Pizza?

Secondly, it would appear that their results were released around noon. Isn't information like this always released when the markets are closed?

Thanks.

Q: I would like to respond to Paul F`s question regarding the best time of the day to make a trade and as well look for some sort of logic as to what happened to Currency Exchange`s SP price since yesterday. I have been following your recommendation on this stock for several weeks now, but was leery on it as it does not offer a dividend. I finally could not resist buying into the growth expectations of CXI and decided to buy. CXI closed at $32.98 on Friday and opened yesterday around $33.00 with upward momentum. As per the strategy that you have communicated, I held off until 11:00 AM before placing an order. The quoted price at that point on BMO Investorline was roughly $33.40. Due to the live time delay of ½ hour, I unknowingly had the distinction of being probably one of a few people who bought at the record high of roughly $34.70. The SP then immediately took a tailspin and finished the day at $31.70. At the time of this writing the SP is now $29.47. I have owned the stock for less than 24hours and am down over 15%. My big mistake was not setting a price limit and as a result availing myself to the mercy of the bid-ask process. This negative however pales in comparison to the precipitous fall of the SP in such a short timeframe. I am looking for any amount of salve to heal my wounds but am more interested in sharing this with other newer investors who may learn from my mistake. In my own defence, I have to say that I did not expect this kind of volatility from a stock such as this. Caveat Emptor, I guess. Thank you.
