Q: It appears to me that you favor diversification outside of Canada and the U.S., even though your primary recommendations cover the Canadian market. What would be your top recommendations for the emerging markets, India, China, Japan, Europe, etc ?

Q: Although I know it is not your area of focus, I am wondering whether there are a handful of European stocks that stand out to you as possible value picks at this point in time. This would be an additional or alternative strategy to investing in a broader ETF. Any insight you can provide would be much appreciated.
Q: Would you recommend this etf ? it seems to do well with a nice upward trend.
Thanks

Q: Do you have an ETF that is specific to Japan that is hedged to CAD and if possible avoids the poor companies like Panasonic and has the robotic stocks and the chip and wafer testing tech. stocks.

Q: Just wandering if there is an easy way of locating a blog that 5i wrote quite awhile ago about the low volatility etf ZLB. Is there a way that a member can search your database to locate such older blogs? Many tnx.

Q: Good morning 5i
Thank you for the new website. Its great.
I bought VXUS... thank you. I am well diversified with equities and will have some Canadian dollars to spend after I shave some of my winners (which there are many..thank you) in my RRIF. What would you suggest in the form of an ETF? Europe? Japan UK Australia??? etc??? VXUS being international may cause an overlap but perhaps there is one area that you are particularily in favour of?? Do you expect more growth in the near to medium term (3 to 5 years) in any of these areas? Or should I plan this as a long term (5 to 10 year) investment. Thank you for your timely and priceless answers.

Q: Q. I am interested in environmental orientated stocks, specifically water treatment / filtration. Can you please give me your opinion on Veolia Environment (VEOEY) and Consolidated Water (CWCO) stocks for long term holds. Also, if you could provide any other stocks you would recommend in this field, it would be greatly appreciated.
Q: Hi Peter can you please tell me how good this three stocks are. And if I was to buy which would be first and second. Maybe 2-3 year . Thanks. Alnoor
Q: Hi Guys. What are your views on GLOP? I can keep it for at least 5 years.
I like the sector, the geographic areas of operation, and the dividends. What are the risk that you see in it ?

Q: Im looking to add an etf for foreign diversification in my rrsp portfolio. Long time horizon. I just want to "set it and forget it" for this particular etf. I already hold VEE in a half weighting. Looking for low MER and broad diversification across different countries. Any thoughts? Thanks again.
Q: Hello Team,
Could you give me an analysis of talend. Is it a buy in your opinion?

Q: A Money Saver Magazine had a interesting article (Richard Morrison, July August 2017) regarding that you should invest in places that you would be willing to live and places with low corruption. Denmark #1, New Zealand, Singapore,Sweden and Switzerland were among countries with the higher scores ahead of Canada #8 and the United States #18. Dividend yields are over 4% on the New Zealand and Switzerland etfs and company holding appear solid.
Are there any countries around the world that you are most bullish on and would you comfortable investing in the above etfs say 10-20% of a portfolio of a 30 something year old?

Q: Hi!
I'm a new investor who is interested mostly in ETFs and mutual funds. I'd like to diversify my portfolio by region (e.g. Canada, US, global, international, emerging).
I have some cash on hand that I would like to invest. However, given the ongoing bull market, I'm concerned about an imminent correction. I was wondering if you could suggest some places to invest. Is it safe to invest in international or emerging markets at this moment? Or should I keep my money in cash and wait for a correction?
Thanks!

Q: I'm aware that you don't follow companies outside of Canada but I also appreciate the fact that you make a special effort to answer questions about them to the best of your ability.
With the caveat that I should do my own due diligence, what could you tell me about Australia-based blue chip CSL Pharmaceutical (CSSLY)?
Robert

Q: Your thoughts on ZEA as a core holding for diversification in my RRSP portfolio??
Q: Good afternoon. I had 1030 shares of Ebb in 2 registered accounts. I sold them today after the current slide. I would like to know of a dividend paying water play for a long term hold. Either pure water, pumping equipment or desalination. What would you advise at this time? David
Q: Hello 5i,
I have been thinking about increasing my allottment to emerging markets funds. I already hold vwo and was wondering whether to just increase that, or whether it would be better to diversify. I would appreciate your thoughts on that question and suggestions as to what might be etf's. I am an Average, moderatly conservative investor, with a good diversification
Thanks

Q: Greetings 5i,
Macro outlook is calling me away from N.A. today. Developing a strategy to take advantage of what looks like an enormous infrastructure and transportation project in China and surrounding countries. This may be old news to some but has popped up on my radar only recently.
"Estimates indicate that Belt and Road infrastructure projects in Asia alone will require investments of US1.7 trillion a year through to 2030" - HSBC
So my question is regarding China's Multi trillion dollar Belt & Road Initiative(Silk Road), what ETF holds companies that would gain significantly from this huge transportation infrastructure project?
Also could you see some simple base metal companies benefiting such as local iron ore company LIF, or a big international like Glencore?
Providing I stay diversified appropriately what is the best way to capture some of this growth?
Cheers!
