Q: I have a question about Surge Energy, SGY. From your comments and answers to other questions, you seem to like the company and speak favourably of it. My question is, SGY is not an "official" recommendation. What is it about the company that keeps you from formally recommending it? Does it have deficiencies or risks that concern you? Q: BTE..r and yesterday's question. My understanding is that when the deal closes BTE.r will have accumulated but unpaid dividends attached. So BTE.r already has $0.22 attached that will be paid at the close. This in the NR announcing the close of the financing but is not in the initial NR about financing.

A general question if I may. Though I haven't done any research on the topic, it seems to me, as a fairly observant watcher of the market, that there is quite a strong correlation between a stock's performance leading up to its reporting and the
reporting itself. Ie. it seems with better than chance odds, if a stock does well in the few days before reporting, it's report will be positive. I appreciate that reports are not stuck in
Fort Knox or somewhere pending release and so I'm just wondering, given your considerable experience in the market, if you have noted a similar correlation. Leaks, of course, could come from anywhere, but, I guess I'm wondering if this apparent (to me at least) correlation is something one should perhaps take account of in buying/selling a stock just ahead of reporting.
I hope I don't sound like some sort of conspiratorist, I'm just wondering how level the playing field is on some of these things.

Q: Hi Peter

I noticed that one of the members was asking about Cal-Frac sand companies.

Back in early Dec, Gordon Reid, on BNN, mentioned Hi-Crush (HCLP).

At that time it was trading at 31.66. It is now at 39.42 and has a 5.175 yield.

It still shows a lot of upside and could be a good investment.

Perhaps you could comment of this company.
