Q: Hello Peter & Team

CDV up 3+% today and up 10% over the past 10 days with a substantial increase in volume yesterday & today.

Street appears to be somewhat bullish with 60% calling it a buy and 40% saying hold.

Is there a reason you can see for the recent strength? I can't find any insider trading info... can you?

They report March 9th - what should we expect?

Thanks for all you do

Gord

Q: I hold ERF ENB AND VET in my RRSP. Each holding is 5%. Otherwise the portfolio is diversified. I am concerned that ERF is unlikely to recover and (if you agree with TD and DesJardins outlook) I would select an alternative holding to replace ERF or to increase ENB and VET holdings. Please comment. Greg

Q: Hi peter and team, thank you very much for your great advice. We are extremely happy with these two stocks but as each of them now comprises more than 5% of our portfolio, should we take some off the table, or let it carry on a bit more.

Thanks for your advice
John

Q: Keep up the great work.
Quite a while ago you gave me 2 names AYA and SYZ, both did very well as you know,(although SYZ is off lately)

Could you please give me just one U.S. stock the might replicate either of the above - preferably AYA.

This is not part of my well balanced portfolio its just a bit of US cash I need to do better on than where it currently sits, this can be more of a high risk name.

Q: I would appreciate your outlook on the recent acquisition by Chesswood. Does this news justify adding to a partial position. The market seems to approve.

Q: Stocks such as SES, TOT, PSI and BDI have moved substantially (admittedly in relative terms only) off their lows, which is a bit of a head scratcher. As far as you know are there one or two of these kinds of companies that stand to benefit should the push for LNG occur? Which is, or are, your preferred names in the sector, and why? Thanks as always.

Q: Visa is going to split 4/1. Stock aprox $270. Would it be prudent to buy now or wait for the split. Do the shares normally go down after splitting? Would MA or another stock be preferable.
Do you think LUN Lundin mining is a stock to buy now?\How do you value the Canadian banks now?
Many thanks.

Q: Further to what John wrote in regards to Scotia iTrade: I agree with his assessment of an improvement in iTrade's services. Regarding their commission-free ETFs, you can buy AND sell them with no commission. Some competitors offer Canadian listed ETFs as commission free for purchases ONLY, so you have to pay their normal commission when you sell the ETF. I prefer the Scotia iTrade model even if their list contains fewer eligible ETFs (50 at the present).

Q: Charlie asked about brokerages and you mentioned TD but did not mention BMO. I have a BMO Invest account and trade unlimited shares for $9.95. BMO also provides top notch reports plus excellent information on any stock I may be considering. I believe BNS has a similar service.
