Q: Good Morning Peter,
In our Banking positions we currently own RBC, TD, and BNS... we own the smart reit (old CWT) have been watching BEI and NA for sometime now and would like your opinion on which stock you would purchase for Retiree for a long term hold.
Given the economy is looking a little weak here, does it make sense to keep exposure to automotive stuff by focusing on repairs rather than new car purchases by switching from Magna to Boyd or perhaps reducing Magna to half a position and have Boyd be the other half?
Q: I bought half a position on the recent dip but it seems to have recovered. Would you buy another half now or wait for another dip? I suppose this is one of those technical analysis questions and its probably like asking what the result of a coin toss is in advance but I thought you might have better insight than me on picking an entry point. I tend to be terrible at it.
Q: I've started an income portfolio with ahalf position in BPF,DR, and CHE. To follow are AD,ECI,VNR,CI,POW,POT, and a couple of HSE,WCP,PKI,IPL and GH. There will be about 20 stocks at about a 5% weighting. I'm thinking about the following to add a bit of stability. ISV,CI,CSW.A, ET,TMA,CSH.UN . please provide your thoughts. Thanks.
I hold GILD, PFE and GUD in the healthcare portion of my portfolio. As a retiree would you recommend partial switch from GILD to JNJ for stability and income. Thanks Hamish
Q: I am considering taking a 4% in each of the following.bep.un, bpf.un, win, gh, eci. I am looking forincome and have check all that are now above 5 %¿
My question is a lot of answers indicate that an interest rate increase would hurt dividen paying stocks. Would interest rates not have to go up a lot to affect these stocks.
Q: The market seems to be sorting-out energy yeildcos, blessing some, cursing others. Given Torc's recent outperformance, as well as analyst target prices substantially above current levels, why do you think it remains out of favour (relative to, say, Peyto, Surge, or Whitecap)?
Q: What is your outlook on their preferred issues C, and D , and is it a hold or a sell at this time. Is this a case of be patient and collect the dividend and what would be a worst case scenario for Bombardier. thanks, jean
